Genuinely think kosta would have been one of floyd's hardest nights work...and there was always a danger kosta would have taken him out...absolute great timing that he had. Cant remember the vince philips fight but hatton was just a nightmare for any older fighter, i still think kosta had a lot left that night against hatton it's just that ricky was all wrong for an older fighter and still think he took more out of ricky than people realise due to the many flush right hands he landed through-out. He wasn't prime tyszu he was just older tyszu, think a younger kosta would have taking care of hatton, not easily but he would have got the job done. Kosta gets way under-rated nowadays maybe because he wasn't a flashy fighter as such...timing was absolute top drawer tho. Brilliant fighter without being too flashy. And i for one would have loved seeing floyd and him go toe to toe. I honestly think mayweather has got better the higher the weights he's went up, he was more flashier in the lower weights but as a complete fighter better in the higher for me...reckon kosta would have had a good chance to take him out a couple of years before gatti/floyd maybe. Would still have floyd favourite but a very live underdog for me.
You have to be out of your damn mind to think Zoo is beating PBF. PBF would neutralize Zoo's right hand after that then what? Zoo's not going to knock him out and he's not going to outbox him how does he win?:deal
I know plenty about him he was a b class fighter at best. I also know that Zoo wanted no parts in a rematch. Yeah he was a crack head and if he had more dedication he possibly could have been more but hey it is what it is.
I don't think Zoo would beat Mayweather. Just stating the example you gave for why it wouldn't happen isn't logical.
Styles make fights. I loved Hatton, been great for British boxing. He beat Tszyu who was fading by the time they fought, right fight at the right time. I don't think a prime Kostya beats Floyd but he pushes him hard, losing 8 round to 4 unanimously. The only guy who potentially could have beaten Maywether was Pacman, but back in 2009 when the fight should have been made. It would have been huge, I would have still gone for a Mayweather win where he would have been pushed all the way.
YES. As the OP said, Tszyu tended to figure out the slick-boxing types and nail them. Tszyu had enough game to land his power on Mayweather's chin and get rid of Floyd. Of course, it couldn't happen with Mayweather on HBO and Tszyu on Showtime at that point, too bad, would've been fantastic to watch. Tszyu had over 250 amateur fights, the guy had seen EVERYTHING at some point in his career.
Nah, not a good style matchup for Kostya. Floyd wouldn't get hit with any bombs and would outbox him. Even if he did get nailed with something big, his iron chin and great recovery powers would serve him well and he wouldn't make that same mistake again.
Don't like Floyd much and think he has certainly ducked some fighters but in regards to this fight he beats Kostya by an easy UD
