Was last night an anomaly, or will Rios do well @ 140?

Add Maidana, Matthaysse, Guzman, Garcia, Soto, Alvarado, Prescott, and Holt.

He's a good addition to the division.
I'm not ready to write him off yet.
He should be alot stronger and sharper at this weight.

Maybe his career will resemble that of what Maidana has done @ 140.

Maidana knows how to change up, while Rios clearly doesn't.

Maidana !!! not for me , this would be Rios Murray take 2 with a bit more coming back at Rios

Soto and Guzman would at some point have to plant there feet and punch Rios as oppose to using pure boxing , Soto has the variety but not the the pop , this actually would be a great fight , when they were supposed to meet @135 under TR i was very excited , but i fancy Rios here , due to style , age , timing of the bout etc , I'm not sold on Guzman as a JrWW yet

From your list Mike Alvarado gets the nod , i think Rios beats the rest TBH , but by no means a given

Change up what ?? he has one effective punch , if Rios is fighting an inside fight he's fighting in a variety of ways " on the inside " , Maidana has an over hand right , and not much else

At least Rios has a bit of variety

Eh, probably. I'd say he's more consistent at what he does. I'm not sold on him @ 140 though, which is why I made the thread.

    Guzman vs. Rios should fight.

    We can title it:

    "Weight-less"

Change up his strategy of getting his shot.

Maidana has wrinkles in his game in how he delivers his big shot, I've seen a lot more wrinkls in his game than Rios's.

Maidana has more than a overhand right by the way, checkout how the took out Cayo.

Rios is pretty crude, maybe just as crude as Maidana to some degree, but Maidana is naturally bigger and has a damn good chin himself.

His chins ok , but isn't great

Maidana is a better straight puncher than Rios , but thats about it , when Rios is allowed to work inside he's very very difficult to deal with , his ring craft and IQ is way better than Maidana's , his variety of short power shots is better than Maidana's , he's better schooled than Maidana , i believe him to be superior to Maidana in most aspects of the sport TBH , but thats just my opinion

I believe Rios to be slightly over rated , but the credit Maidana receives is simply ridiculous , he's a basic fighter who cannot box !!!

Would Rios do any better against Khan, Ortiz, and Alexander?
