Was Leaving Sky For Primetime For Khan Good Or Bad?

Sky also have the mighty Cleverly fighting bums on PPV now, so we can see the great standards set for themselves. I'm sure Ian Napa is in with a good chance of main eventing the next Sky PPV.

 

Stupid move! Primetime is way too obscure and mickey mouse, a bit like Setanta was for some sports. It's good to see Froch on Sky now though, as he is far more deserving of the bigger stage. Khan will have to go back to Sky at some point, Primetime is a backwater!

people keep saying that 60,000 and 100,000 buys is great and proves he's boxoffice but in reality thay are **** numbers when you consider hatton got 1 million vs mayweather now thats boxoffice

The reason Khan's last outing did 60-70k buy's (whatever it was), was mainly due to the Irish buying the fight, i'd say they atleast contributed to 30k of them buy's... Plus Sky had already advertised the **** outta' the fight so Primetime didn't even have to advertise the fight. Plus being on at 10.30pm is a good thing.

Against Judah, Primetime will have to do all of the advertising, and considering Froch's fight's were on Primetime i didn't see much advertising from them, not just that with it being a Vegas show, it's gonna' be on around 4 in the morning. I know Khan v Malignaggi did well at 3am but that was free on ITV where as the Judah fight will be £14.95 (£17.45 if you aint registered with Primetime before). The only way i can see it doing well is if it come's with the Chisora - Fury fight

I don't think you can compare Hatton vs Mayweather. I'm sure Khan-Mayweather would do similar numbers

 

This fight ain't gonna do 70k ppv buys, then golden bb will regret pinning their hopes on amir being a cash cow like hatton. He was unique with the level and numbers of support he had. Vegas loveD Ricky because his fans spent money on booze and gambling... Schaffers comments that the Vegas casinos should stock up on booze because it's gonna be like when hat ton fans came to town are completely deluded. And both gb and team khan have lost touch with reality.

Khan does have good support from the British public but to say it's like hat ton fans is ridiculous.

Khan brings his family and a few Asian contingent who probably don't drink or gamble, and IF they do it ain't gonna be much. He might also get support from ****stanis in America but that's as broad as his hardcore appeal is at the moment. And by hardcore I mean support that is willing to fly out to Vegas with him. It's nowhere near hat tons level.

Yes, in the uk he could fill arenas and make a top event. But not yes in America, Schaffer and gb have got it all wrong.
