Was Lewis as great a ring general as Ali?

    For me Lewis had one of the great tactical minds in boxing. He was cold, calculated and very smart. Was he as great (or at least comparable) in this regard as "the greatest"? Was he an even better ring general?

    Not even close to ali ! The only one i can think that would or could be was chavez!

    I got Lennox Lewis tied for 5th place with George Foreman.......... He's in my top five....

    2. Holmes
    3. Johnson
    4. Joe Louis

    Ah, thanks for the heads up. It's edited now. It was Lewis I meant, but it could of course been Louis as well. Thanks again. :good

    Yeah, Chavez was one cold headed ring general as well. Don't you think Whitaker outsmarted him, though? Or was it just too much speed and skill?

    If you don't think Lewis compares to Ali in this regard, then please do a comparison between Lewis and Louis. They were perhaps more similar.

    Larry Holmes was blessed with great athletic ability...... Larry had speed, reflexes, lateral movement & good power..... He was GREAT!:D
