I said i wouldn't comment on this thread again but why do people keep saying this ? no the judges didn't make "two mistakes". Lewis won handily in the first fight and was robbed blind, and in the 2nd fight Lewis won a competitive fight that he deserved to win. This myth that Lewis got awarded 2nd fight based on 1st fight is just clearly just that "a myth". Holyfield did better in the 2nd fight but Lewis still deserved the win, and it's got nothing to do with the 1st fight, Lewis clearly won a competitive fight based on Holyfield's low output in the 2nd half of the fight. This is my scorecard BTW. Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield 2 1 Holyfield 2 Lewis 3 Holyfield 4 Lewis 5 Lewis 6 Holyfield 7 Holyfield 8 Lewis 9 Lewis 10 Lewis 11 Lewis 12 Holyfield 115-113 Lewis
Yes. And the strangest thing is that in the fight Lewis Vs Holyfield 1 British judge scored in favor of Holyfield (as in the fight Fury vs Wilder 1 British judge scored in favor of Wilder).
And after rewatching the fight he actually said he got it wrong and felt bad for Lewis, but the worst for me was Jean Williams scoring the 5th round for Holyfield. Who got pummelled along the ropes for over a minute, it was Lewis's best round of the fight and he outlanded Holyfield 43-11 in the round, yet somehow Jean Williams found a way to give that round to Holyfield. "Claiming" that she couldn't see properly because of where the fighters were positioned, even though Holyfield and Lewis moved all round the ring. Jean Williams for me just stinks all round, she was an inexperienced judge who had never judged any big fights in her life. And here she was judging one of the biggest Heavyweight fights of the 90s, why was she appointed ? and is it a coincidence her scorecard was atrocious, including scoring that infamous 5th round for Holyfield ? the whole thing for me just stinks.
