When it's a heavyweight world title fight yes it was too early.

Just watching the khan first knockdown by Prescott and he's 10 times worse shape than LL was in that stoppage but was allowed to continue.

I voted yes in the poll but watching it again he stumbled into the ref on the 8 count, I would say it was probably correct in hindsight. I am all for letting fighters fight and giving them the chance to carry on but not being able to stand still whilst the ref is checking you doesn't give him much choice.

Lewis blew it, even when he started complaining his legs were gone. The fact Lewis did not mention it when he won the rematch suggests even he knew with hindsight, he did not have two 'good' legs to stand on!

The result actually did Lewis a favour as he hired Steward and became the most dominant fighter of his era but was the stoppage premature?? I would have liked to have seen it continue as it's that type of scenario which potentially makes great fighters but i totally understand why the referee halted it.

No, it was a good stoppage Lewis was struggling to control his legs.

I always felt he ref could have allowed it to continue when you compare that to other situations but I also feel Lewis was saved from a nasty KO, which could have lowered his stock even more at the time. I think the ref did him a favour but thats just my opinion.

Lewis was doing the chicken dance worse than Judah. Fine stoppage.

Lewis was out on his feet. Lewis was also knocked out cold by Rahman!

McCall was going to go straight back in there and knock him out proper. He was David Priced so it was an excellent stoppage.

The commentator was awful. He got caught with the left hand, not the right...but to then go on and say that his career must now be in tatters. It was his first loss, and he went on to achieve greatness. Muppet.

I'd like to have seen the referee ask Lewis to walk forward, which would have confirmed one way or another whether he was fit to continue.
