He beat Ortiz by an unexpected upset.

The win really got him and he took a tougher fight with Canelo.

He showed heart but ended up getting TKO by Canelo.

Then he recently fought Maidana. Which he fought a tough fight and caught him a few times.

Then Maidana knocked him down and finished him. Another lost

He fought good in both of these fights, but he came up short in both

Thats two knockout losses after he beat Ortiz.

And that's two big paydays after he beat Ortiz. He got his chances, made some good money and tried hard. Sadly he came up short but Lopez has nothing to be shamed for. What's the problem?

To build off the previous response, not only did Lopez get two paydays, but he was also in two more entertaining fights, something sure to keep his name in demand. And he drew a really good crowd at the Home Depot Center last night as the A-side; he never would have achieved that level of popularity nor the opportunity to headline a fight in such a venue without the Ortiz victory.
