 Marciano is beating a prime Louis based on his struggle victory over a shot Louis in his last fight? Marciano is always going to give Louis trouble but any version of Louis post godoy till 42 is bearing Marciano, Louis marked his face up badly in that fight too

Joe Louis quote after losing to Marciano ' He doesn't fight by the book but I got hit with a whole library tonight'

Marciano's power makes it a 50/50 fight and no it wasn't a struggle victory Marciano won it easy and made Louis look like an old man

Maybe you are right. Last week my 80 year old neighbor was arrested on charges of "assault " with a dead weapon !!!...

In my opinion Louis was better than Rocky, yes. Rock may have had more clout with one punch (maybe) but Louis was overall the better and more effective puncher. For me, the best puncher in heavyweight history.
That, and his incredible composure seperate him from the chasing pack in my eyes.

If you gave them a time machine, Louis would deal far better with the current heavies than Rocky would.

without a doubt, yes, rocky had endurance and fitness but Louis had both of these plus more subtle skills.

Louis was the greater fighter by a hundred miles. Head to head I would favor the best Louis over Rocky.

sometimes the better man can lose to a less complete fighter because of certain strengths ....Dempsey-Tunney-movement, Ali-Norton-pressure, Louis Schmeling-right hands & experience....Louis was overall better than everyone including Ali, Marciano,Dempsey,Lewis,Tyson,Evander,Vlad, Vitali, etc. IMO he was the greatest

Louis greatest fighter but Rocky's style is going to annoy him cause the pressure..He said he didn't know if he would ever beat Rocky cause he does'nt like the pressure..Joe was such a decent kind human beihg ..He let his fist do the talking He did better using his jab on Rocky..Straight punches keep Rock away
Louis's jab was as powerful as most guys right hand wallops Straight punching wins it
