Absolutely. A complete hype job with a disgraceful Glass Chin.

    Honestly,

I think the moment overwhelmed Bute. He was fighting away from his adopted country for the first time in (ever?), and Froch simply came in amped up for the bout.

I am still picking Lucien to outpoint Froch in the rematch.

What I find hysterical, however, is the same Brit-tards who dismissed Bute before and after the fight, now act as if Froch is the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson in no small part due to that fight. :rofl

This is still the same guy who got his ass kicked by Ward, was outpointed by Kessler, and received a hometown gift decision against Andre Dir.

I voted yes, not because Bute sucks but because of the scale of the hype. He was hyped all the way to #1 in his division by alot of people. A shame because he is a class act.

Who the **** has compared him to SRR:patsch

Atleast he fought those fighters, he exposed Bute bigtime. Prepare to be shocked again in the rematch. Froch will kick his ass all over again, not because Froch is the second coming of SRR but because he is a class above Bute.

Bute could not handle the power and Froch was picking his shots with ease, if anything expect an even earlier KO.

It appears that most,if not ALL Canadian fighters are protected species.Home town decisions are the norm and their commissions allows overmatched opponents to get knocked around by the locals.
Bute seems like a decent dude, but he was over hyped and landed in a world of trouble when facing someone who could really punch.Same thing will happen if he ever fights Froch in a rematch. He is just not in the same league.

A lot of good points mentioned in this thread. Bute is very capable in my eyes, I can't wait to see his next fights. The Froch fight was a life lesson for him.

Why did you pick him to win in the first fight then ?

    :rofl

Something what bunny gibson said but I dont think it was Venom It was deeper than that.

I think there is kryptonite for every man.
And Bute's kryptonite is powerpunch to the chin.

Even at ams when Lucian was allowed to wear headgear made of lead the power of the kryptonite became too strong at times. When Lucian got touch with his only weakness the powerpunch the force of kryptonite made Lucian feel powerless and took away his legs. There was a sweet spot top of Lucian's chin and if you managed to touch there all the power radiated on Bute.

There are several different kind of strengths of Lucian Kryptonite and the strength depends on its master.

There is only one way to recover from his kryptonite but it just only temporary. Lucian had to beat 10 count and in Canada effect of frightening powerpunch can be nullified with extra long counts.

Lucian could resist his kryptonite if just did manage to get whiskers but it is very unlikely.

You're just sore because you predicted a comfortable Bute victory.:|

Exactly.I'd say Froch fans are amongst the most capable of accepting their fighter's flaws. He fights in a very dangerous style that asks for trouble. No one's said he's beating Ward in a rematch and I haven't seen anyone compare him to Robinson.
Bute picks a bum for his backyard homecoming, and it's good to see that even many of the hardcore fundamentalists are saying it's an unacceptable choice of opponent.
I'm sure Froch would love to fight Dirrell in his tune up for his next tune up with Bute.
    Oh I forgot,Froch won't fight anyone that's a threat.Especially one who won 11.5 rounds against him.
And he couldn't afford Dirrell.Everyone knows he's the king of the PPV box office.

Definitely over-hyped,though I do think he's talented.Taking the fight to Froch was possibly the worst strategy he could have adopted,as Froch is far more effective against guys that force the fight against him(there's a great misconception about Froch's style, and it's why I don't think he'd do any better against Dirrell in a rematch - unless Dirrell had truly declined that significantly.) and Bute's own defensive flaws and crap punch resistance were always going to lead him into trouble.

You got to be a brave man to think Bute will win a rematch, even more so when he hasn't had another match yet and therefore hasn't proved that it could go another way.

Also face it Froch SD12 Dirrell, have a feeling this is going to be the new Vitali-Lewis still getting mentioned in ten years time.

I think he is without a doubt the biggest hype job to be exposed in this era. His fans acted like he was an ATG despite not facing anyone of note. He fought no hopers and has beens at home, he was put on ***** street and was out on his feet against a limited plodder in Andrade and had to be saved by a hometown ref. The very first time he faced a live opponent in Froch he was shocked melted down in grand fashion and was brutally stopped.

No hype job at all. Bute is a very good fighter. He got demolished by a better fighter who stylistically was all wrong for him, as it turned out.
