IIRC, I had Ortiz up by a round going into the 10th.

I had Ortiz up but then I also had Washington and szpilka up against Wilder as well before Wilder stopped them.

I agreed with the official judges.

    I had Wilder in front.

    Most observers didn't.

Didn't score it so I don't know but I was confident that Ortiz had done enough to get a decision..

    Doesn't really matter now..

Wilder got a couple knockdowns that put him ahead but outside of that Ortiz was winning for sure.

Ortiz was clearly up on the cards but he had given everything he had in the first 8 rounds. I saw him in the corner prior to the final round and said this fight is over, he was hunched over gasping for air while Deontay still looked fresh.

Tactically wilder fought pretty well tbh, not getting too involved until the danger passed.

I cant remember now. I think i may of had Ortiz up by 1 or 2 when the KO came. Had he survived i think the momentum had already shifted i could only see Deontay winning the final rounds anyway as Ortiz looked to of emptied his tank trying to finish Wilder off in the 7th and 8th and the momentum had shifted.

Official cards had Wilder up i think at the time of the stoppage. I could moan at that but a 10-8 to Wilder in the 10th would of had him up by 1 or level anyway with 2 to go.

I had Ortiz up on the cards but despite that it was a much closer fight than the scorecard suggested. It wasn't like Ortiz was in anyway dominant or comfortable, he was barely winning rounds and had already been dropped.

To me it seemed like a fight where both were struggling with their opponent and were just trying to land the one significant punch to win the fight. Wilder was finding the southpaw style tricky, had his jab neutralised completely and Ortiz was struggling with the size and reach of Wilder and couldn't easily get to Wilder with any consistency.

I had Wilder up due to the face that the first 4 rounds had little action and that Wilder was always going to be given at least 2 of them whether he deserved them or not, similar to Joshua v Parker.

Close rounds always go to the home fighter rightly or wrongly.

Most agree with the 5th and 6th round for Wilder, the 7th and 8th round for Ortiz and the 9th round for Wilder.

The first 4 rounds is where a lot of people differentiate. There were little action in all of those rounds with both
fighters landing almost the same amount of punches.

I don't think all of the first 4 rounds should be scored in favor of Ortiz, i had 2 for Ortiz, 1 round even and 1 for
Wilder and subsequently had Wilder up with one point on the scorecards.

The judges scorecards were ok imo, they even scored the 7th round with 10-8 for Ortiz.

I think I had Ortiz up 6-3 but he'd also been dropped so essentially a two point lead that would have been nullified in round ten.

It's off no real surprise though is it, Wilder is technically well behind most of the top boxers in his division. Guys like Washing and Spzpilka were able to outbox him and Molina gave him some fits as well. Wilder just happens to be an extremely athletic dude with dynamite in his fists, has heart and a determination to win and that's been enough so far.

I'd have to look but I imagine most people would have predicted Ortiz to outbox Wilder and those picking Wilder to win would have predicted it on the back of a come from behind KO.

IMO this fight was everybit as predictable as Canelo v Khan, just so obvious how it was gonna play out.

Many pro-Wilder fans tried to claim in the RBR thread that Wilder was ahead because of the knockdown's in the 10th round......

To this day i'm not sure they understood me when I attempted to explain that round 10 was not included on the scorecards.

Ortiz by at least 2 rounds before the stoppage.

    Most people had Ortiz ahead.
