Ortiz was up in the fight, no question about that, he won his rounds pretty comfortable and also had one 10-8 round like Wilder had before, he was doing much better overall than Wilder and looked great till Round 9, then he gassed a bit too much. Wilder was up on the corrupt cards of course and in the end it doesn't matter at all as Wilder won by TKO10. Still a great effort and a very good performance, probably one of the best performances in the HWD in 2018.

Wilder gets a knockdown that isn't called in round 2 at 1:08, which is something almost everyone overlooks. This would have put Wilder in front, even if you give Ortiz the rest of the first four rounds; even that is a stretch, as many argue that in close rounds, the champion should be favoured, and the challenger needs to decisively wrestle the title away. Go back and watch that moment closely, and prepare to become enraged, because cosmic justice meant Wilder was rightly ahead after 9 rounds.
