Arthur is a mediocre, low level, pillow fisted domestic fighter. How the hell did he beat Yarde in their first fight?

I don't usually buy excuses. But I'm assuming Yarde was really off cause of all the deaths in his family. I think Yarde would beat him 99 times out of a 100.

Arthur a solid domestic fighter with a very underrated jab. Yarde with great heart and power but with flawed fundamentals can be beat for sure. Was what is was.

@DJN16 come on man. Yarde gave Beterbiev a good fight. Imagine Lyndon with Beterbiev!

Harsh, British level yes but he's a very well rounded fighter.....Yarde wasn't exactly world level when they first fought, it was a close fight......Yarde has since showed the difference in level between them.

What's the big deal here? Have I missed an interview from Lyndon where he's claimed what Hosea once claimed.....that he was the best LHW in Britain or something?

I wouldn't call Arthur's win over Yarde a fluke. He edged a close fight. Yarde fought a different and better fight in the rematch and won well. He's a better fighter than when they first fought and has went on to show more sides to his game. That was a career best performance and win for Arthur so far and maybe that's his ceiling.

    Yes it was

Simply look at the rematch, Lyndon got bounced all over the ring and quit in a few rounds

Lyndon isnt worth speaking about anyway, he's all mouth. Always saying yeah I'm gonna be in a big fight next, n always conveniently ends up fighting some absolute can or Turkish kebab shop worker

All he's interested in is the easiest money possible, he's never gonna achieve anything of note due to that poor attitude

Boxing - or all sport for that matter doesn't work like that or is not as simple as you make out.

For the record Lyndon has no chance whatsoever against Beterbiev....but he did have tools he could use against Yarde which proved effective in the first fight.

Yarde has attributes that proved to make a very good contest with Beterbiev, however they were was only going to work for so long before the inevitable. He couldn't sustain it for 12 rounds or find an equaliser that nobody has found so far against Beterbiev. No shame in that either.

@DJN16 its the same with the whole top 10 tbough. Bivol, Gvozdyk, Callum Smith etc
I'd expect Yarde to give them a fight too whereas Arthur I'd expect would lose easily. I just personally see Yarde as a level or two above Arthur

Variables and styles make ingredients for fights.

A predictable attacking powerhouse (style) in Yarde who has stamina issues (variable and style) who likely was not in the right mindset (variable) came up against a disciplined boxer in Lyndon (style) who most likely had a great camp ( variable) and came in with confidence knowing who he was facing.

It ain't that surprising. Neither was Yarde giving an old Kovalev a close scare before the inevitable and Yarde going for it in an exciting fight with a predictable conclusion against Beterbiev.
