Porter, Khan, Brook were past it. Gamboa was too small Spence was drained Postol lost every big fight afterwards Madrimov was basically primed and undefeated thoughts?
It's pretty obvious that he was, considering he did more than enough to get a draw, arguably even a win.
Yes. Madrimov had this amazing amateur pedigree. Strong fundamentals. Great feinting. Perhaps too much feinting.
Nope, Viktor Postol, Madrimov has shown nothing in the pro ranks, Postol was coming off a hammering of Mattysse. Unless you mean technically as in techical ability? He doesn't throw enough for me.
Technically for sure. You can see his amateur pedigree. One thing I will give Madrimov credit for that it seemed like every Crawford opponent was incapable of doing is getting their head off the line. That in of itself is why Crawford didn't stop Madrimov. Spence, Porter, Brook, Gamboa, etc. all kept their head on the centerline and Crawford just kept exposing it over and over again until he stopped them.
1. Madrimov 2. Spence 3. Postol Madrimov not as accomplished as the other two but as others have stated he had a great amateur pedigree and was young and hungry. Was also a 154lber taking on Crawford in his first fight at the weight. Even with the crash, I'd still put Spence at 2. In his last fight he'd largely dominated and stopped legit champion Ugas, who was never stopped before and never stopped since. If Crawford had struggled in that fight then people wouldn't be so ready to act like Spence was totally washed and useless by that point. He didn't struggle because he was simply better. First two rounds of that fight before the first KD Spence looked the best he's looked since before the crash. Was faster and smoother than he was against Ugas and Garcia and his legs looked better and less awkward. Only reason I'm putting him below Madrimov is because 1, The crash still would have had *some* affect on him even if I think it's overblown how much affect it had, and 2, I think the weight cut hurt his power. His power was always kind of overrated and Crawford usually managed to brace for the shots he landed, but the fact that he landed some pretty big looking shots that didn't seem to effect Crawford AT ALL tells me that the weight cut played a part in his performance. Postol at 3. Could put Porter here but he retired immediately after their fight so I'll say Postol was in better form. Had just gotten a good win over Lucas Matthyse, was in his prime, and older version of Postol would go on to give Taylor and Ramirez the next two top dogs of 140 much tougher fights than he did Crawford.
Definitely the toughest fight of Crawfords career, but with that being said I still think Crawford legitimately won a close fight 115-113. He's going to need to put up a better effort if he's going to have any shot at beating Canelo.
