Was Malignaggi robbed?

    10 - 9 Malignaggi
    10 - 9 Diaz
    10 - 9 Diaz
    10 - 9 Diaz
    10 - 9 Diaz
    10 - 9 Malignaggi
    10 - 9 Diaz
    10 - 9 Malignaggi
    10 - 9 Diaz
    10 - 9 Malignaggi
    10 - 9 Malignaggi
    10 - 9 Diaz
    115 - 113 Diaz

Tough fight to score, I had to give it to Diaz as much as I like Paulie, and I think if Malignaggi had won the last clearly (which was a CLOSE round but I gave it to Diaz because of his work in the first half of the round, Malignaggi seemed a bit too lazy) I would of gave him the closer half of the fight had it been a draw, because the third round I think was closer than I gave it I feel. Malignaggi's speed and jab work was great but he was getting caught a few times and because I was trying to see it Diaz's way, I gave it to him by two rounds. I'll watch it for a third and probably final time later today.

Still, 118 - 110 is horse**** of the highest calibre, and Paulie deserves a rematch.

I just watched it and scored it and suggest you turn the sound off and try scoring it.

    My card looked like this:

    1 10-9 PM
    2 10-9 PM
    3 10-9 PM
    4 9-10 JD
    5 9-10 JD
    6 10-9 PM
    7 9-10 JD
    8 10-9 PM
    9 10-9 PM
    10 10-9 PM
    11 10-9 PM
    12 9-10 JD

So I had it 116-112 Paulie.

Round 2 could have gone to Diaz because he started getting inside but because his success when there was limited in this round I still gave it to Paulie.

Round 4 was the first round I clearly gave to Diaz but even that round Paulie was largely in control imo, he just got caught a few too many times in this round.

Round 8 Diaz had success but again I thought Paulie dictated the round and did more work over the whole round and continued to dictate through 11, where I felt Diaz had success at points in the round but Paulie was the general in there.

The last round was close but I gave Diaz the benefit of the doubt as he was the one coming forward, other than that I'd say it was quite even.

Diaz didn't throw enough to win that fight, if he fought every round like the 12th he'd have deserved the win. It was a close fight but for the most part I felt PM outboxed him and out maneuvered him ducking and dodging his punches. Malignaggi's Jab was excellent, how many did Diaz even throw?

Diaz is not a LW, he needs to go back down to lightweight or even Super Feather. Did anyone else notice how fleshy he was? Hatton would destroy him even now imo. I also think Hatton would have won against Malignaggi even if Malignaggi had fought like in this fight. Diaz is an extremely poor mans Hatton at this weight, not strong enough.

I'm not such a bad judge that I can't score unless its mute, dude.

I'm not saying you are but a cheering crowd influences anyone's thinking and that's the only way I can see how you would have scored the fight the way you did. I could understand round 2 but round 9 and 3?

I've highlighted the rounds which I thought were close and some might disagree with.

People argue Calzaghe was lucky to get the decision against Bhop but atleast he was on him throwing punches for every minute of every round, Diaz just didn't do enough for me, but he is fighting well above where he should be...if he was a natural LW then he would have had the strength to do a lot more.

Round 3 I felt Malignaggi started well but near the end he was getting caught, and why they weren't hugely telling shots, it swayed the round for me.

And as I said, I was trying to put this in the best favour of Diaz, so at best, it's going to be 115 - 113 to him. I was more watching the shots Malignaggi was taking rather than the ones that Diaz were admittedly.
