watery eyed and nearly shedding tears of anger? Dude I was pissed but Manny Steward seemed beyond pissed off, Never thought I'd ever see him like that...

That is the mark of a true boxing fan, his love for the sport of boxing showed right there. They need to temporarily ban Cortez or something, this guy is ****ing everything up.

I watched the Top Rand feed of the fight on British TV, so I did not see how Steward responded.

But that was a total disgrace. Steward, a very foul mouthed dude when off of HBO, should have been pissed.

i need to rewatch that, i was so confused of what was going on and hoping that it wouldnt end the way it did, that I completely blocked out all the commentary out of my head.

Dude he was teary eyed. He was so ****ing frustrated that he was licking his chops ready to explode on somebody. During the broadcast Jim Lampley said during all these years of having you with us on HBO I've never seen you this upset!

    Dude was PISSED

He should have been. I think Steward is a great trainer, but as a commentator, HBO cut off his balls.

Glad to see he was outraged. I was outraged too, as Cortez, a ref I have actually admired in the past, TOTALLY ****ed up.

This was worse than robbery. This was ****. :deal

I used to like Cortez too, But hes been over officiating and ****ing everything up as of late. The guy needs to go on a very long vacation and come back in like 12 months man. Seriously the guy needs to clear his mind or something.

He Needs to sit the **** down. He's reffed some great fights, but Refs, like fighters, need to Know when to call it quits.

Cortez has never been that good, but this one is outrageous! He should be penalized or something, after which, he should be banned (and any of his relatives to the 4th degree) from ever entering a boxing ring again...

Dude, its too much to explain, but let's just say that was one of the most suspect stoppages or Dq's in the last 25 years of the sport.

1)Soto nearly beat his opponent to death. The guy was pouring out blood from everywhere.

    2) It gets to the point where Cortez 1 or 2 times was hesitating on whether he was going to actually stop the fight. He actually attempted for a split second a couple of times to actually stop this fight, Soto was KILLING this guy.

    3) The guy goes down. Gets up and Soto keeps beating on him.

    4) Soto is beating on him, Cortez for no reason breaks up the action but Soto kept going back strong and beating on the guy.

    5) The guy gets hit on the chin and goes down. The guy seemed to go down on his knee, and Soto barely grazed the back of his head with a punch that WAS NOT intentional, it was a grazed punch and it skimmed the guys head in a way that opened a small cut on the back of his head.

    6) Cortez doesn't stop the fight, instead calls time and for about 5+ minutes they're debating whether to call this a TKO for Soto or a Disqualification for the grazed hit!

To put it frankly, In almost every fight with intense action, there is almost ALWAYS that last grazing/glancing blow that lands as a fighter is already on the mat.

It is sometimes almost IMPOSSIBLE for a fighter to tell if their opponent is bending down to "bob and weave" OR has actually already taken a knee.

As you can see if you're on 1 knee your head is at just about the same height as if you were completely bent over bobbing and weaving punches.

Soto grazed the guy when he was down, it caught some kind of edge in the back of his head and he started bleeding...

    Cortez disqualifies Soto.
