    Yeah, he's just too old to be a good ref. He was a solid ref years ago, but in the past few years, he's been lousy.

    It seemed like it took Mayweather-Hatton for people to realize it (and much of it seemed to be excessive whining from Mayweather haters and Hatton huggers), but he had worse performances in recent times than that one.

    Spot on, the decision was horrible but letting the guy sit there and bleed for that long was bad for the sport. No way that should ever happen period.

    You know, his work in Hatton-Mayweather didn't bug me really until Hopkins-Calzaghe. It's one thing to follow a referreeing style and at least be consistant with it, but I can't watch those fights and think anything different than that Cortez just happens to twist his style for whoever he happens to like better that night.
