    Hello,

Got interested in this question after reading some posts on here. What do you guys think is Marciano a one punch KO artist or not?

    Thank You.

Not like Julian Jackson or Sam Langford. But he could hurt you very badly with one shot.

Yeah, he scored three big ones on film:

One on Layne, and two on Walcott

He might've had more on his unfilmed bouts, which makes up the majority of his career.

The poll sucks, not nearly nuanced enough. On a scale, he is certainly toward that end but not in the company of a Jackson or even a Shavers. There really are very few one-punch KO guys. He generally beat his best opponents, such as they were in quality, by wearing them down with tempo and pressure AND hard hitting, and whether he took them out with one or several punches, the astute observer of the sport realizes that it was only the final step on a staircase.

A guy like Jackson could take a fresh as a daisy guy and have him pushing up daisies in a split second.

I thought the poll was nuanced perfectly.

I was counting the ones where only one single punch landed. But yeah, if you count Matthews you can also count Louis.

I went wrong. He had the power but mostly he softened his opponent up and forced them into mistakes.

Walcott 2 aside he doesn't have a proper 1 punch turn around ko like Jackson did against Graham

Not many but that's the level we're talking about right?

Marciano was one of the hardest punchers of all time, but it takes more than just power to knock an opponent out. It does take power along with timing, accuracy, and precision. One punch knockouts come when a boxer hits his opponent with a clean pouch that they don't see coming.

    Which Rocky Marciano rarely did.

No. More of an attrition puncher who had a few Crazy 1 punch KOs, he hit awfully hard especially for his size but I wouldnt really consider him a 1 punch KO artist in the same vein as Julian Jackson or randall Bailey
