    Because he's Archie Moore.
He's talking out of his ass no more than you are.

I don't want to labour the point but Moore said they didn't, he also said he was offered a fight with an old Louis but refused because," I respected him too much " .
Even if they had sparred, would you think you could draw an accurate yardstick as to the power of a fighter from a spar?

Have you sparred? Yes you can gauge a fighters power from sparring, definitely.

It's funny how you refuse to listen to Moore's opinion on Marciano's power yet you bring up quotes from the same man and expect us to accept that Marciano didn't hit as hard as Durelle.

I never said he was talking out of his ass ,I don't need some callow youth putting words in my mouth,I find I can speak very well for myself thanks.
Your immaturity never takes too long to surface does it? You are incapable of having a dialogue with anyone who holds a differing opinion to yourself and soon descend into personal insults . I could say you are a silly little kid who really needs to grow up because you are going to find that not everyone is going to agree with you as you go through life , but its probably best if you find that out for yourself.
In short you'll believe anything positive that anyone says about Marciano even if it's an unverified quote , but if someone said anything even mildly negative then they are talking out of their ass.

Sparred? I boxed on and off for 18 years! I don't necessarily give particular credence to either quote.Im giving them as differing opinions from the same mouth!

Well why ask such a question if you have? You can definitely tell who hits hard and who doesn't when you soar.

You don't believe Marciano was a one punch knockout artist?

Walcott could have had eternal life but he was still going to sleep with that shot......

But a younger Walcott with fresher legs and a bigger gas tank probably doesn't get hit by that shot.

Maybe, maybe not. But that punch was putting any version of Walcott to sleep if it landed.

A lot of fighters we never heard of could put any other fighter to sleep if they land their Sunday punch. The big problem is getting the target compliant to your efforts. Marciano made Walcott compliant by his fine work over the previous rounds. Pressure and power. A methodical and unrelenting beatdown.

A true one punch knockout, likely the best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be.
