No doubt as far as record goes, he was still prime. He fought like he was prime. The only question in my mind is whether or not the plate on his head affected him or not.

Great win actually. He beat a HOF and ATG quality fighter. It can't get any better than this.

No. He was past it and his performance showed. Very few fighters can be called atg's during their prime. Beating Hamed, McKinney, and losing to Jones by tko and UD and losing to and beating Morales doesn't qualify you as an atg at the time Pac fought him. I compared this to other atg's and MAB quaifies as great then, but past it by the time he fought Pac.

It was completely savage. I remember watching the fight in 2003 in absolute awe.

I still to this day cannot wrap my head around that ass whipping Pacquiao gave a prime ATG fighter.

It was Marco ****ing Antonio Barrera. Prime MAB......

The speed, the power, the stamina, the aggression, the heart, the relentlessness, the explosiveness, the eye of the tiger, literally everything was on display that night.

Truly one of the greatest wins and performances in boxing history.

So if thats the case then you telling me chavez was still prime prior to fighting frankie randall in the first fight which chavez was still undefeated in like 90 pro fights? Lmfao. Dude i know this post was like almost 3 years ago but dude really that was a prime barrera going in the first fight vs pacquiao? It was barrera 60 pro fights. I repeat 60 Pro fights and he had wars before the first fight with pacquiao. Barrera in his last few fights especially vs morales rematch (morales really won that fight but got screwed) and a very decline old tapia, barrera didnt look like the prime barrera that was undefeated in 43 straight fights in the pros and didnt look like the barrera that fought the first fight vs morales. Come on scar you better then this bro.

So let me get this right, you discredit floyd win over corrales cause corrales was unfocused with about to be in prison and weight drain but yet you giving pac credit for beating a fighter that was clearly unfocused with fire in his camp which he couldnt train right and had to deal with steel plate in his head??

    I don't discredit the Corrales win.... I've said that's a quality win.

But Barrera is an ATG. It's just that simple.

in 2003 barerra was not an ATG....hindsite shouldnt count at that point..sowwey

and you keep saying IS, going off of what he is at this PRESENT moment which is an ATG...

in 2003 MAB WAS not an ATG yet at the PAST moment...... you keep judging his career which isnt fair because corales was cut short... it should be judged on the fights at that time, not career wise which you keep going off of obviously..

Then i guess frankie randall and de la hoya should get huge credit for the first 2 fighters to beat chavez especially randall which chavez was still undefeated. Both beat an atg it's just that simple. I'm going by your logic.

Do you guys even know what qualifies a fighter as an atg during his prime? No. There are levels to this shyt.

    #1. Legend
    #2. ATG
    #3. Great.

If Barrera is an atg then and you say now, then what is Ike Williams ranking, and what is Sugar Ray Leonards ranking? What is Ruben Olivares ranking and Salvador Sanchez ranking? Jofre, Gavilan, Ross, Arguello, Emile Griffith.

Ayo who the fuk do you clowns think that you're talking to calling Barrera an atg when he fought Pac. Who!!!???

Lets put it this way ,

Barrera dropped Pacquioa early and was looking great , so he was never ever shot.

It just shows you how great Manny is.

Barrera is still my baby faced assassin. I just loved the way he fought.

For me , yes , beating a prime Morales puts him there .

However I am a bit biased , MAB is probably my favorite fighter from the past 20 years.
