Well not so much a fluke, because I do believe Paul deserved that win. But more so, was it an off night for Antonio Margarito?
After review the fight for himself, he later stated that he could understand why some of the judges had Paul the winner. He also said he saw where he needed to improve, and it was the motivation he needed to recapture the championship.:fire
I believe Margo proved He just had a bad night against Paul with the dismantling of Cintron. If he can take Cotto or not is a different thread. Just wondered how many thought Margo had a bad night against Williams.

Paul was on top of his game that night. Margo was sleeping.

He started much slower than usual. Why I'm not sure but he seemed to be loading up one punch at a time. That just isn't what works for him and was a stupid strategy.

They've since come out about it and said that they need to start sooner in these fights. And it will pay off big.

I'm pretty confident in saying Williams doesn't beat Margarito twice.

He just plain old wasn't busy enough and Williams outboxed him from the outside the entire fight. I might favor Margo by tko in a rematch (assuming his "stay busy" style is in effect, which I think is a no-brainer)

It was the night PW had been waiting for his whole life as a fighter, to become a champion..... he fought his ass off and his heart out and got the victory, i think margarito still would have beat most people that night.

I was so dissapointed in williams in the quintana fight...

I think Paul Williams is to Margarito what Margarito is to Cintron. They just have the assets to beat the other.

No it wasn't a fluke. Margo was beaten at his own game by Williams. Not to mention in order to beat Margo you need to be able to take a punch, counter and have good movement. Margo had a tough time catching Williams at first and he did show angles and decent movement. Margo is good when faces people who are there to be hit and stand in front of him. PBF and Cotto will always beat a fighter like Margo.

He'll probably say Cotto wasn't that good anyways.

He won't beat Cotto so we don't have to worry about it.;) Margo is a good fighter I'll give him that but by no means is he elite.:nono He's simply too flawed to beat an elite fighter like Cotto. It's a easy fight to predict as long as Cotto boxes, like he did for the last few rounds against Mosley he will skate to a UD win.

I won't say that. Cotto has done enough IMO to prove that he's the real deal. I'll say that I've been underrating Margo if anything.
