    That's a spectacularly bad take.

I wouldn’t object to anyone saying he had a great career, if that’s what you’re asking.

But as far as h2h, you don't view him as anything special right?

Compared to every HW great? Even if the answer's no, that's a far cry away from "he's an unskilled bar-fighter".

I don’t think I’d favor him over any of the best fighters around that weight at their respective bests, if that’s what you’re asking.

Then again Pat M did state that he was highly impressed by Deontay Wilder, in particular his control of distance, jab and endurance (really!).

Then after Fury trounced him it was Fury who was h2h the best heavyweight ever and the only one capable of doing that to Wilder in all likelihood in boxing history.

Anyone remember that guy who used to post on here who reckoned he sparred everyone from George Foreman, Tua, Lewis, the Klits etc? His insider story didn’t stack up to scrutiny and I’m wondering whether Pat M maybe the same **** talker that guy was?

Easy fix is for Pat M to give the name of his fighters and what gym he works out of. I’d be happy to know that we have a genuine expert amongst us.

this is obviously a case of mistaken identity, you must have me confused with somebody who cares what you think?

Show us evidence of your expertise to prove you’re not full of hot air and that your overly critical eye is merited. Then we can bask in your in depth insight and detailed analysis....instead of not giving two good ****s about what you and the scrubs at your gym think of anything.

He spun a good story and had everyone going but after a while he slipped up and got his story mixed up and got called on it. He disappeared as suddenly as he appeared after it happened.

He was actually a good poster but he inserted himself in a lot of his posts (much like Pat does with his gym and his fighters). I need more than anecdotal accounts from some supposed “insider” on this forum before I’ll believe they’re possessed of some great insight that the rest of us boxing fans aren’t privy too.

Ah OK thank you for the update Griffo. He certainly told it in a way that sounded so plausible. I thought he was the real deal because at one point another one or two guys that supposedly sparred around the same scene joined him in convo and they all (again supposedly) worked out who the others were and talked about meeting for drinks.

Have you spent much time in boxing gyms interacting with boxing trainers? I bet a lot of trainers and fighters would cringe at or chuckle at the same things Pat cringes at and chuckles at. These are guys who spend countless hours teaching and learning how to properly throw punches, move, and defend themselves. Is it really hard to believe that they’d be underwhelmed by and disinterested in footage of guys who are so clearly doing so many things wrong?

Yeah he was very believable and decent in that he didn’t lord it over anyone unlike some others feel the need to. I first had my doubts when he made a big deal about how he didn’t turn pro and how Big George gave him a hard time about it, then a while later he mentioned how his amateur career was more successful than his professional one. Because he was a decent guy and an otherwise interesting poster I let it slide but he slipped up again and I think it was Dinovelet (?) that called him out on it and he promptly disappeared.

He had some good anecdotes but I now take them with a pinch of salt. At one time or another John Scully and the the boxer the Ding-a-Ling man (I can’t remember his name) all posted on ESB regularly and they were great. Knowledgeable and personable as you’d want.
