It was Money May...because had Hatton been fighting Mattyhiase there would not had been the same turnout.

Both. They hate Floyd and they love Hatton. You have to have love and hate to get that kind of effect. Hatton would of made history beating Floyd. Thats why Hatton Castillo did not sell that kind of ppv. 24/7 was a genius boxing marketing idea.

I don't want to make Mayweather out to be a huge success and draw but people arn't buying to see him fight (well some of us are) most ordered PBF-DLH and Hatton-PBF to see Floyd lose. Either or, he was a huge part of the draw but Hatton played a big role in the success in England.

Let's put it this way: If the fight had been Mayweather-Margarito or Mayweather-Williams, would there have been near as many UK buys?

    I think not.

While Mayweather contributed in that he played the "villain", a good portion of England wouldn't have cared dick if it wasn't a fellow Brit playing the "hero".

But also had it been Hatton-Malignaggi, I doubt there would have been nearly as many buys.

But a good portion wouldn't of cared dick if it was someone like Paulie Malignaggi.

So Hatton-Malignaggi would of done even 450,000 in England?

The title of this thread is completely bogus which renders the results pretty much meaningless. Anyone who seriously thinks Hatton could pull these numbers without Money May is probably ******ed. The same goes for anyone who thinks Lil Floyd could pull the these numbers in the U.K without Hatton.

Their wouldn't have been as many buys, but I'll wager that any fight between a common opponent vs Hatton/Mayweather would result in more purchases in England if Hatton were fighting.

    Hatton vs Malignaggi
    Hatton vs De la Hoya
    Hatton vs Tarzan

All much bigger selling fights in England than

    Mayweather vs Malignaggi
    Mayweather vs De la Hoya
    Mayweather vs Tarzan.

That's really not even news... I can't believe any body would seriously vote for Mayweather being the bigger draw in England. Don't get me wrong...Mayweather was A reason the fight was big in the UK..but not the main one.

Hatton can't do those numbers without Mayweather in England.

    It was both IMO.

the trash talkin by Mayweather on the tour accounted for alot but Hatton has a massive followin, he could of faced any world champion and it would have had huge ratings.
Probably the only fighter to have a 30,000+ fan base willin to travel. You seen the guy on 24/7. He`s the peoples champion, a stand up comic and a totally down to earth character.
Any fighter would give there left arm to have a fan base like Hatton and thats almost fact:p
