He gets overated in that he is called the greatest. Hes not. But I certainly dont underate him, he is a great fighter.

Even in his prime he was quite beatable as Meldrick showed here. In fact, Chavez was comprehensively beaten here, and he knows he was beaten - there is no joy in the way he raises his hands in victory at the end, merely the jaded knowledge that he was the lesser fighter. Meldrick knew he had won it too, he was hardly on his last legs, he was still floating.

I wouldnt not be suprised if the ref was in Chavez's pocket for a last five second decision like that. Its almost blatant and its what detracts from calling him the greatest, the greatest fighters dont need a ref to win them a fight they are getting well beaten in.

I hate it when people say Taylor made a terrible mistake by trading with Chavez....Taylor had no ****ing legs to move out of Chavez' way...Chavez had completely rearranged his internal organs, so any slight movement really hurt an exhausted, battered and destroyed Taylor...

  3. if that had happened a lot of people would be claiming that chavez had been robbed and rightfully so in my opinion. if u dont answer the referee's question, its over.

It was a 12 round fight that Taylor was knocked out WITHIN, plain and simple! Chavez would have lost that fight had it gone to decision, but Chavez laid down a lot of groundwork during the first 11 rounds as well. Chavez did not score the most points, but clearly landed the more punishing shots through out the fight that ultimately led to the knockout.
