I was at Mike Perez's debut in Limerick. He was in incredible shape and motivated. Everyone was talking about him back then. He lost his motivation ever since. The Mike Perez I have seen past few years would lose to the guy making his debut back in 2007. Nice guy though and respect to what he did for Mago.
Takam was a huge underdog, just a tuneup fight for Perez, but Perez lost the fight, good thing the judges were for Perez, if not, there is not way Perez could have gotten a draw..............Perez was not holding back, he was just out fought...........Takam is the real winner..........
I had it 6-4 Takam, but I was not surprised with the draw. I agreed with Jim Watt (sadly) Gave Perez the 1-4 and Takam 5-10. Just felt that He got out worked and out husttled out of the fight. Motivation looked like to be a problem and he didnt look the same after the cut. Think we need to see a rematch
I think he was a little but it's hard to tell he has that typical Cuban style which I don't think translates very well to the HW division like it does in the lower weights.
I thought he was winning the fight till he got cut and started rumbling on the inside with Carlos Takam.
no excuses for Perez, but I didn't see him throw one punch all fight that had the same snap aswhen he fought Mago... seemed a bit off, but then again he didn't do anything to make a difference in that fight
