it might have been a figure of speech but you still maintain that Douglas had his way 100% of the the fight which isn't factually correct. The record will always say Tyson lost by KO, but it will also say he scored a knock down. You are downgrading any success Tyson had, even trying to ignore it which i think undermines your argument a bit. I think you are right, Douglas would have been able to make the count if it was 10 secs instead of 14 but you take it too far and barely acknowledged the knock down. Buster was hurt and needed the count, you admit this by saying a hurt fighter shouldn't get straight up.

Since when is a 10 count based on precise seconds? The refs count is final and Douglas timed it to perfection. Douglas dominted Tyson that much in that round before the knockdown it should have been a 10-9 round.

Yeah, THEY tried to pull it. Keep on hating Mike Tyson. That's the only fact you seem to hang your hat on.

What are you talking about? I stated the loss hurts him, badly.

Answer me this: What other heavyweight dominated an era more so than Tyson did? (Holyfield certainly didn't) I believe Rski and I asked oyu this many posts ago...

I don´t know what you saw, but I saw one fighter flattened by one punch when the round was over too....

He beat the count and knocked Tyson out two rounds later, end of discussion.

    Ali, Louis, Marciano, Wlad.

Holyfield dreams he became champ in Tyson's era, he would have ate em up like Pacman.........

Poor old Mike sounding like he got boxing-dementia to me lately, either that or some seriously strong meds.

Your "one sided" fight could have gone the other way, if the uppercut came one minute earlier. Maybe you check your evaluation once again....

I doubt Holy would have ate em up like Tyson did. In fact Tyson did a lot better dispatching the same opponents Holy fought. I even see Holyfield having a few tough fights against Tyson's 80s competition, maybe even taking a loss. The old styles makes fights, just because Tyson destroyed them all doesn't mean Holy would.

yeah I have noticed that this year. as recent as a year ago Tyson sounded a lot clearer and more with it. I read he was taking meds for his back which hopefully is the cause but he been like it a while.

He would have defeated them all and beat Douglas for good measure.

I got weights and then talk around that. I would ask them what weight are you at now. I sort of imitated the way the reporters ask fast questions so they would think I was one and used a little lingo.. it was fun. I always think of Lou Duva for some reason. He really had a good personality. Evander was not too nice.. I remember asking Virgil Hill before he fought Hearns, do you think Hearns fights like Charles Williams. He said a little bit, but Williams fights you on the inside, Tommy uses his jab to get everything going.

Like many fighters who came back from a enforced layoff SRL , Ali and Tyson then all were never the same. Once they came back they changed their style and were more stationery and their skills diluted. Tyson pre Douglas and pre jail was a force of nature. A brute and a focused Tyson trained D' A mato was like the Bowe who was trained by Eddie Futch ( one that won title from Holyfield ) was a near complete fighter and would be incredibly difficult for any HW ever to beat. This Tyson was great and the post jail Tyson career good.
