I don't recall Tyson going to the floor in the Smith fight. The way Tyson prepared for the Douglas fight be deserved to get his ass handed to him. Make no mistake of Tyson comes fully prepared and trains for the fight 3 months no distractions, he was more than capable of winning against Douglas in a rematch.

how come smith has a glass chin?

he has fewer tko/ko loses than wlad...though admittedly a lot of people see wlad as glass chinned.

mind you, smiths 3 ko/tko losses when prime were to good primes, not 37 year olds who had never achieved anything when prime.

so there is a difference, substantially - you've shown us that bonecrusher was better than wlad.

anything else you want to point out?

I think this is unfair. HW's hit hard and all HW's are a knockout waiting to happen so getting caught by a decent fighter, and being hurt, is possible.

I think its the "prime" tag that people have a problem with. It doesn't sound right that somebody can only be in there prime for a relatively short time.
Was it the wrong tactics against Douglas, was it styles make fights or was it just the best man on the day won???
What I do know is Tyson after jail was not the same fighter as the one before. Was it burnout or just to old to maintain his style and be successful. No Tyson was not invincible.

He got stopped 6 times :deal

He got stopped in his very first pro match, in 4 rounds :patsch

But according to you, James Broad (23 wins 10 losses, 45% ko percentage) is a powerhouse.

Thank you very much for having showed us your ignorance.

Is there anything else you want to show us?

    did I not say prime?

    I did.

you double failed, AND SO BADLY TOO, calling someone ignorant when it is your knowledge ALONE that has failed and not anyone elses. but try again.

PS you actually triple failed, because you showed how your hero wlad is leeser than bit part champ smith.

    Hell no

As vicious and great Iron Mike was . He was never invincible .

As fast and Durable Ali was . He was also never invincible .

No fighter in past , present , or future will ever be invincible .

Greatness as a sportsman in terms of being a good representative/ambaassdor of the sport?

Or greatness simply in terms of how great they were in competition in their respective sports, and ranking them all-time?

Sugar Ray Robinson in the consensus #1 fighter of all-time despite using his wife as a punching bag and giving her 5 miscarriages.

Jake LaMotta, Floyd Mayweather, Sonny Liston, Michael Spinks, George Foreman, Joe Louis, Alexis Arguello, Carlos Monzon....all have been physically abusive towards women (although I don't think Louis, Foreman, Arguello, and Spinks were serial abusers like the others). That's just a short list of the countless boxers who have abused women. Monzon was a murderous sociopath. Lamotta was a ******, Liston might have been one too.

It really doesn't change the fact that Monzon is a top 3 MW ever, Spinks is a top 5 LHW ever, SRR being one of the greatest, if not the greatest, p4p fighters ever.

It just means that at best, they had serious demons. At worst, they were utter pieces of trash.

its often the demons that make the man want to be perceived as great.

its not great at all to be motivated by such demons.

Holyfield would have beaten even that Mike Tyson. I do think Mike Tyson was/is an ATG and in his prime very few would beat him. It takes a combination of speed, footwork, counter punching, and chin. Holyfield had all of these and would beat Mike Tyson probably by KO in both their primes simply because he could take Tyson's best punch but Tyson would lose in a brawl and can't out box him either.

I think Tyson would beat guys like Lewis, lose to guys like Bowe, beat guys like Wlad, lose to Vitali. If you're big, fight smart, have a good chin, you can win if you're smart.

At the time all the guys Tyson was fighting didn't have the right combination of ring intelligence, chin, and punching power.
