in his documentary TYSON, he talked about how he was nervous and scared before all of his fights but he never showed it
That doesnt necessarily make you mentally weak. If you fall apart during a fight because of that, it does, but Tyson when he was dialed in really didnt show those type of shortcomings. I was always nervous before I fought too, but once I got going I was fine. Its only natural.
Only a ****-ass, armchair, keyboard warrior would have the gall to question Mike Tyson's mental strength. Walk a mile in his shoes and tell me what you would be able to do.
I think his life has been very rough from the very start, and that he is a true survivor.. But offcouse he had his issues..Suddenly he was rich, famous and at the same time very young. And when Cus died,he began to trust some people,he absolutely couldnt trust...And i think along with that and all these things with robin givens, money, fame, wrong advisers, ect. ect. did that he made some crazy things. When i see the documentary about him,its a lot more complicated than just to say he is mentally weak...I think he is a strong person...But the things he had put himself into, made him unstable at times... I think he,finally got a life where he is quite happy, dispite all the things he been through.. A true champion in my eyes!!
Depends what you mean by "weak". Meaningless term. What really is silly is the notion that everybody he beat was too scared of him. It is ridiculous on so many levels that it is difficult to challenge.
After that (pressumably you saw that in that old documentary) Teddy says smth like God gave him a strong body but not a strong mind etc. he goes on about it a bit.
Anyone ever read "The Last Great Fight"? Its a book about the Tyson-Douglasd fight. It was about both fighters careeres up until the fight, the fight itself after the fight and today. I dont normally buy boxing books but a buck at a dollar store? No hesitation there. After reading that, yeah I would say he is mentally weak. Very strange man that Tyson.
