The weight gain may have been only from poor training, but he was very muscular too so it’s hard to say for sure. Tyson cheated on drug tests and has a history of being dishonest so there’s a pretty good chance he used peds later in his career.
He was just a natural freak of nature. I knew guys like him on the track team and wrestling team in high school. Guys who were just freakishly developed for their age. Even now Tyson is in good muscular shape after slimming down from that period of obesity he had. I would find it hard to believe that an old school guy like Cus D'Amato who came up in an era where being "muscle bound" was a no-no would encourage or allow steroids. In short I think Tyson was just the beneficiary of great, once in a generation genetics.
Ok now i get what you mean. 5) Exactly. There is certainly a problem "out there in the web" with mesomorph = muscular type. There is also the understanding, less depended on muscle, which body type you are: https://5b58b124e99a27aafddaa36f-pz...17/10/Screenshot-2017-10-19-at-2.32.38-PM.png Some sources say mesomorph is the type to gain easily muscle, and do not look fat. I think most say: Endomorph, which is also called "softgainer", is the type to gain fat AND muscle most easily, which makes actually sense. Hardgainer, mostly called ectomorph, neither gain muscle and fat easily. Guys like Haye, Holyfield or Spinks could just swap to lower weight classes without a problem, but could pump up as well. Now mesomoprh is in between and they gain muscle easily, without fat. It just makes little sense, nor does it say they gain more muscle/calorie. I think someone should seperately talk about just the body type (you could call it stocky-factor) without focussing too much on muscle. Particularly in a boxing forum, where athletes rarely touch weights. Of course, not everyone fits the system that well. Fighters like Buster Douglas do not look that "thick", nevertheless he could balloon to 260 pounds easily in his youth.
I saw the pic, there was no fat on him.....and that's my point, he wasn't fully developed at 13 and yet still was a solid 190ish pounds. So it isn't out of the realm of possibility for him to be 215-220 at 20-21 years old.
The one with D’Amato? He doesn´t look jelly here http://www.gamingzion.com/gamblingnews/mike-tyson-potentially-the-greatest-of-all-time-part1-7117
GOAT/Carnera, I am basically saying what The Raging Bull said. These are not scientific categories, more like general descriptions of builds & tendencies. I do not know what you mean "they do not gain more muscle/calories". Anyway, many boxers have lifted weights for a while now.
I'll meet you part of the way there. Tyson may well have cheated later; his integrity would not keep him from it. But when there is nothing suspicious, & he did not really add any muscle mass-another poster said his neck wasted away in prison-we cannot say it is most likely. About the weight gain-I am saying that he seemed to gain ONLY fat. That it is very plausible he went from ~ 10%-18% body fat. he could have even lost a bit of lean mass. There is just nothing suspicious about an athlete gaining weight, from getting lazy too. Oh about the Ruddock nonsense, it clearly inspired these top bothc comedians. This content is protected
This on should be in 84 before the Olympic Summer Games (17-18 years old): This content is protected Tyson fought below 91kg. Does anyone know his weight vs Tillman? He was fully bulked 8 months later with 212-214lb. So they must have put him on roids in that time frame. PS: He was 198 3/4.
In some of his post prison fights he looks incredibly ripped I'd say he was on something for the McNeely fight.
I had a mate at school who never trained in his life and he had the body of Roy Jones, he was just naturally like that some people are the *******s wish I was
