I agree that Tyson was still in his physical prime but that does not tell the who story. Bhop's physical Prime is long gone by it is his mental state and dedication that has kept him at the top of the heap. We, as fans, tend to forget the psychological aspect of the game and the importance that it plays. Pac lost focus against JMM and was drawn into masterful counter. I would argue that Floyd seemed distracted early against Chino but had the mental strength to turn things around. Cus kept Tyson rage focused, without Tyson's rage was released on the world . . . away from the ring.
if you are going to win the title when very young, theres an increased probability of you losing it whist young too. If you aren't going to win the title young, you are never going to lose it young. The younger you win it, the younger you can lose it. ergo - Floyd Patterson, won it young, lost it young. Leon Spinks Muhammad Ali stripped when still young George Foreman obviously those of lower inherent ability like the K bros will never be in a position to lose a title young, because they never had the ability to win them young in the first place. seems your argument has come up butt ugly 4 you. This is a rather OBVIOUS point btw but you seem dumb enough to have missed it so I had to point it out.
Do you mean in terms of dominance in his era or head to head? If you ranking champs for what they accomlished in their own era id say Johnson, Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Clay, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Holyfield, Lewis and Wladimir are all ahead. To me, Mike is more in that Max Bear, Vitali Klitschko area in all time standing. I gotta put mike ahead of Liston though because going 2-1 intitle fights just doesn't get him over Mike. If you mean head to head you have to include the big guys imo because a big reason why a lot of champs from past eras would get run over is because they are too small. Joe Louis is just too small imo. Rocky also.Marciano and Balboa.
I would have like to see him fight Roy Jones Jr. after the Ruiz bout although he was already washed up. It would have been more competitive than the LLewis bout which happened 6 months earlier. Winnable in fact considering that Roy got KTFO by Tarver.
Ah yes, Vitaly was too busy winning 6 world profesional kickboxing titles to win a title younger than Mike. Question for you Harol....who won a title in less fights and less roumds in profesional boxing, Mike Tyson or Vitaly Klitschko?
the UNDISPUTED title, that is THE TITLE, I would say Tyson by a long stretch by winning it only a few years out of school - vitali hasn't done it to this day, and was NEVER capable of doing it. if you mean an alphabet meaningless unwanted title then theres plenty. but you already knew that.
furthermore to your crap post --- Tyson won his first MAJOR title inside 20 months with more wins and fights than vitalis much more long distance route with fewer fights in that time, and for a much lesser title.
If you go by winning A belt, Mike Tyson is the Youngest champ ever but Vitaly won a title in fewer fights/rounds than anyone in history. If you go by unified champion, Floyd Patterson is still the youngest man ever to win the title and Mike only was champ for 18 months. Looks like this argument has failed you miserably bud
see dan, what you should be trying to sell, is vitalis longevity and good clean image. don't try and sell stuff that doesn't exist.
a **** wbo belt that no one wanted, and he took WAY MORE TIME than Tyson to win even his **** one, so don't try and pretend he took a shorter timespan, because HE NEVER DID. sadly for you I am not claiming Tyson is the youngest HW titleholder., and never will, and never have. Its poor show on your part that you have to try and insert words in my mouth, in order to pretend you have won an argument THAT WE WERE NOT HAVING. so try again.
Its funny that you accuse me of putting words in your mouth, then claim I tried to say Vitaly did it in a shorter timespan when I clearly said less fights/rounds, which is true. You literally crapped on me for doing something that you are actually doing in the same fuc king post atsch. Wow, wtf
The thing that your generation doesn't get and I feel sorry for you because of it, the fighters of Tyson's era and before were larger than life and very big stars, as in almost everybody in the US knew who Tyson was, I mean everyone. You could walk down the street and ask 1000 people who GGG or Kovalev are you'd be lucky to find 5 or 10 people who have heard of them, they are a big deal in our world but mean nothing to almost everyone else. We live in a very insulated world right now, there are almost no shared experiences, because with the internet it is very easy to get lost in what you and only you like, nothing to talk about at the water cooler because your co-workers probably would have no idea what you are talking about, there were s*x symbols, movie stars, megastar musicians, TV shows and movies everyone watched, that were very famous as in the WHOLE world knew them. Tyson was as well known as Obama back then, so every fight and victory he had his legend grew in front of everybody's eyes, so its real easy for someone that famous to be blown out of proportion, also people weren't as savvy or marks back then as much as they are now, because there was no such thing as Youtube to research things on, you literally had to sit in front of the TV and wait for **** to happen. So yes he was slightly overrated but you kinda had to be there to get it, he seemed very awesome at the time.
:good :good He was an absolute megastar. Pepsi ads, Nintendo, Kodak.....He was on the cover of a bunch of magazines, especially sports illustrated. I read them so much, they were all dog eared and the school library left them on a seperate pile for me. He was about as big as Micheal Jordan or Tiger Woods were in their days. He was literally on of the most recognizable men in the WORLD.
