Was Mike Tyson right to bite Holyfield?

All Time Great is exactly what it's spelled out to be. You don't think Mike Tyson is an ATG?

 

We could argue that the Elite All Time Greats have:

Command of a Ring: (Mike had that, mostly in his prime)
Exceptional Defense: (Mike had better than that, especially in his prime but pretty much through most of his career)
Commanding Offense: (Do I really need to say Mike had that? Especially in his prime, but not just.)
Championship Heart: Not so much in his prime, but Mike took some punishing shots by Ruddock (and perhaps Botha) and did better than keep coming. But for me Mike saved the most obvious proof of his heart against Lennox Lewis, where he was obviously both overmatched and getting hurt worse than he might have ever been and yet kept coming (until it became impossible). In defeat, he showed the most heart he had in his entire career. Can't say that about, say, Liston (though of course the latter was an ATG, I rate him just below Mike, at #11).

These are simply arguable points, certainly I don't mean they're engraved anywhere.

 

In the Heavyweights I only see Ali and Louis as All Time Greats. Foreman, by winning the Title back at the time and in the manner he did, comes close.
Tyson is with Marciano, Frazier and Lewis as a very good Champion. Put Holmes in that bracket too.

 

You don't see Holmes as an ATG after holding the title well over 7 years with 20 successful defenses?

Ok then. I choose to respect and honor your opinion.

 

Holmes is very close Rules. Sadly for him, the general level of available opposition didn't help his cause.
