I simply cant understand his calls, Holyfield was CLEARLY cheating. Iv also heard rumors that Mills cried after Holyfields previous loss? Is this true?

then again, he reasonablly could’ve DQ Tyson after the first bite. I just cant decide how to feel about the guy.

Honestly, elite professional championship level boxing especially with heavyweights is not a garden party and it often gets ugly. I am not saying ignore and don’t enforce the rules or don’t penalize someone for violating them. I’m saying caca happens and referees are humans who can’t see everything every second of the time, plus they have to find a balance between letting the fighters go wild and draconian, Pharisee-like enforcement of the rules which could stink up the show for the fighters and the audience.

Mills Lane used to crack me up with his "Let's Get It" On at ring center after the instructions. Does anybody know that he was an active D.A in Nevada during his off days of officiating boxing? He was a D.A in Nevada, that explains why he was so anal in officiating. I felt that he was watching Mike Tyson so much closer than Evander Holyfield.
