The excuse the NSAC gave was pure bull****. They said there was two possible potential clash of head . In other words they didn't see ****. The replay is suppose to confirm, not we think. Also there was no denying the punch that caused the swelling. That is why the rulling is BS.

No, and anyone saying biggest robbery in boxing must have just started following the ****ing sport recently. RJJ in South Korea, and Coggi vs Gonzalez are easily forgotten huh?

ANYWHERE other than Vegas we'd be saying "shame about the ending, hopefully we get a rematch", and that's what we should be pushing for here. First and foremost that's what we should all want. Whether it was a headbutt, a punch, thumb to the eye or aliens, that would be a BS ending, whatever the call. Run it back in the new year.

As for the replay, they need to define WHAT they are using them for. Is it get it right? If so, the fight needs to be put into a time out either when the incident happens, or end of the round. Anything longer than that and it makes a material change to the tactics of the fighters, and damages the legitimacy of ANY result. If the decision can't be made in a timely fashion (ideally the 1 minute break between rounds) then they need to decide, do they continue the reviewing process or go with refs call? (Due to doing it this way it would give BOTH MEN) a clear indication of what the decision will be going forward.

Or is it to prevent clear and obvious errors? If so they need to determine what these are.

The fact they let the referee's call stand, let Franco and Moloney continue as if it was an AHC then tried to review it rounds later was total BULL****. Had Franco been aware it was a punch he'd have had the chance to go all out, or retire in his corner and save himself for another day. Had Moloney known the injury wasn't going to be a route to victory (as he should from the AHC call by Mora) he may well have tried to make sure the bout went beyond 4 rounds and taken the TD.

The wrong call, not corrected, then attempted to be over turned was not the right way to do things.

I wonder if the ruling can be overturned?

That was weak. I’ve watched it several times and didn’t see anything significant. I did see the jab that closed his eye. Wasn’t a huge punch but it looks like he caught him with the thumb/side of the glove. The eye looked fine before and started to close afterwards. That appears to be the punch that closed his eye. You seem to be in the 1% group if you think it was a butt. Either way, these guys need to fight again.

Me too but rules are rules. Thumbs are sewn to gloves now so you don’t see it happening like it used to happen in the last. Thumb shots to the eye are not illegal. This decision was wrong. You don’t have to like the rules but they exist for a reason.

Jay Nady was in on it too! It wasn't until after he started to watch that it was determined a headbutt. It appears they got confused on which eye was damaged. Because the video that was shown to the public shows very weak rub on Franco's left eye.
Each of those guys need to get a Shaquille O'neal size thumb in their eyes.
I feel bad for Maloney. Hopefully it get investigated more and the decision gets reversed.

Tend to agree. It didn't look like that it caused the eye to shut indeed.

I had things riding on the fight, a Maloney win was bad for me so I was extremely relieved that they stuck with the original decision. The replays shown certainly seemed to favour the verdict going to Maloney.

If I had money on the fight I would be happy with the decision. Robert Garcia was happy. He had a good seat for the action and knows what happened but he was happy. Either way I hope they fight again.

Obvious evidence of the corruption that permeates in Boxing. Boxing is a cesspool of cretins and thieves. The Nevada commission has absolutely no regard for the truth or decency.

Over 25 minutes of deliberation and video replays and they still managed to find a way to get to the wrong outcome

The NSAC sent a video still to ******* that they claimed showed a headclash. Doesn't look like much on the video footage. They robbed the guy plain and simple.

But how was this a case of corruption? Moloney was the A side here, he is with TR.
Or did Oscar pay off someone(Franco is with GBP)?

It´s just pure incompetence. If you watch MMA as well, you will see even more of this. NSAC will get something wrong, and they are then too chicken **** to admit to it.
They have a "ride or die mentality".
