Was Mosley-Margarito one of the most EPIC beatdowns of the 2,000s?

Still etched in memory as 1 of my least favourite fights....... Margo was 1 of my top 2 favourite fighters at the time , a very limited boxer with an iron chin and will and made the best of what he had..an underdog worthy of rooting for.... this fight opened my eyes to some of the harsh truths of boxing that it isnt always just 2 men 1 against the other and sadly alot of cheating still goes on, i essentially went from excited about the fight to watching one of my boxing heroes fall from grace dramatically , Mosley battered **** outta him, he musta landed over 300 overhand rights, the very definition of a beatdown . Still havent rewatched the fight since then and have no intention of doing, i look back at margarito in a very different way now.

 

That pasting that Tony took only endeared him even more to me.He took that beating like a man, and did so with such dignity and class.Rather than cower and shy away, he absorbed every flush shot and came back smiling.He knew he was a beaten man and was still determined that, if was going out, he was going out on his shield and in spectacular fashion.A lot of guys would have just tried to survive at that point, but not many fighters can be held to the same standard that Tony is to be held at.


Tony Margarito is all man, and deep down, whether you want to admit it or not, you all wish your favourite fighter had the same level of heart, courage and determination that Tony always demonstrated in the ring.

 

He is a coward in the fact he cheated,for how many fights... HE showed he did not have heart,and the first time he was not able to cheat he got exposed..

Funny thing is Mosley was considered a tune-up for the cheating one-dimensional treadmill.
