The thing about that time was that you had 1 champion and not 5 per division like nowdays. It means boxing was way more competetive and if you won the belt you where the best.

Nowdays you can just ask your favourite orgnanization to strip the current champ for stupid reasons and fight a no good bum for the title and then becalled a heayvweight champ.
