Was N'dou vs. Malignaggi really that close?

I don't really get why they are doing a rematch. Was Paulie really ever close to losing this fight? Refresh my memory, please.

Pauilie won every round pretty clearly. However, he's contractually obligated to rematch N'Dou.

Malignaggi outclassed him every round. I didn't give N'dou a round and I don't recall him landing one big punch the entire fight.

Paulie dominated N'dou, 120-108. He worked behind an active jab, giving just enough movement to offset N'dou's offense, and put his punches together nicely, even dropping him with a short right hand right on the button. Very watchable performance even when considering Paulie's lack of a great offensive arsenal and obvious lack of power.

There's really no need for this rematch because Paulie will win wide on the scorecards once again. Just a stay busy type fight until he and Hatton square off later in the year.

    Paulie murdered this bum-

    However...

I still think he lost his last fight.

Malignaggi clearly won every round, and he knocked N'Dou down once. N'Dou hardly landed a punch.

ok, I was just having a conversation with a respected poster and he said Paulie "arguably lost." I had to say I disagreed, but couldn't remember the fight. Thanks for the refresher course.

Yes - But the ref also broke them whenever they were even NEARLY touching.

N'Dou is all about the inside and he was just not allowed to fight on the inside at any time.

I don't think it will make any difference though, Malinaggi is in a different class - But I think he believes that as well - I hope N'Dou KO's him.

Honestly, that was probably the best I've ever seen Paulie fight. I didn't have him losing a round.

The ref in the 1st fight was a disgrace. That fight pissed me off.

Malignaggi nows that and he thinks another easy points win over N'dou simply lines up a big money fight with Hatton.

The ref was similar to Nady in Jones Jnr VS Ruiz - As as they got inside they broke.

    N'Dou had no hope.
