no, certain fighters have the style to give far better fighters than themselfs, all the trouble they can handle. ken norton was nowhere near the fighter muhammad ali was, but if they fought 10 times, norton would always take ali to the wire, he just had the style to trouble ali, also having eddie futch in the corner's a great plus.

Norton was one of the better boxers that Ali fought and just gave him problems. i had their three fights 2 to 1 for Norton. not a fluke.

One of the most famous and glaring cases of one fighter having another fighter's number is Norton-Ali...some say Norton won all three fights. I haven't seen them in a very long time, so I couldn't say for sure, but anybody who knows a little boxing history will tell you...Norton had Ali's number. I think even Ali admitted it.

No fluke. Norton was probably unlucky not to get the nod twice. Ali found Kenny's style very hard to deal with.

Having a guys number is not a fluke. Some greats have that achilles heel fighter. Hearns had Barkley. Ali had Norton.

Ali, fought 11 rounds with a broken jaw. Also, the fight could have went either way.

Yeah it was a fluke that happened 3X..:nut

If they fought 100X, my guess is that 100 of those will be debated endlessly as to really won.

    :lol:Don't i wish!
Sometimes, I wake up from a dream and have a goofy smile on my face...I dream that D' Amato, Blackburn, Eddie et al are in a gym somewhere still nutting out the intricacies of the Sweet Science.
Somewhere out there, Eddie is looking down on Freddie and a little nod and smile graces his face.

Er....yes, making my post semi-relevant to this thread:

    JMM is to PAC* what
    Kenny was to Ali

    * Mebbe not so much anymore given the improvement in Pac's game and JMM's apparent (at least to me) deterioration.
