Was Oscar really that impressive in his earlier pro fights?

I think that was the first fight that showed what Oscar's stamina was truly made of, but on the reverse, this was also the first fight that showed everyone how to beat Trinidad. This is why this fight is impressive. It was a bore in which two undfeated world class welterweights were supposed to war with each other but instead they revealed each others weaknesses for future boxers ready to exploit them; Hopkins for Trinidad, Mosley for DLH. Definately a blueprint fight for the future.

I went to look at Oscars record and I went through boxrec. Clicked on Floyd and I thought I clicked on Oscar, and I went to a different tab I have (I use mozilla) and then I came back and I just scrolled down not realizing I was still in Floyds.

Although interesting note, Floyd only fought one guy with a losing record. :rofl:good

oscar always had a very good skill set. he looked very sharp in fights both offensively and defensively against guys like hernandez, rivera, chavez, and gonzalez. it wasn't just the power, it was the skill, the jab, the good parrying ability, the combinations.

de la hoya struggled with carr but was never behind. quartey, debatable decisions aside, now he was behind and won the fight.

and vargas was ahead on most cards, 3-2, after 5. that was a close fight.

Funny how one man's opinion can change over time huh? What was once good is now not so good. We all perceive the world differently at different stages of our life. :rasta
