Was Oscar's win over Vargas one of the best in the last decade?

Are you kidding? Vargas can't take Oscar's left hook any day of the week, it was just a matter of time no matter how much fuel Vargas had. Vargas was in great shape -- the body punches and right hands were doing the damage long before the left hook put him away.

I agree no one gave Pac a shot prior to the fight, but as soon as Oscar stepped into the ring looking like a relapsing coke head, a lot of people quickly changed their opinions. Pac's most impressive win was against Cotto.

It's funny that you should take shots at ODLH, when he was who made Pac and Floyd the stars that they are today.

One of the best fights. Best wins, I dunno, possibly, but way down the list.. Vargas came out strong, salivating from all the roids in his system and put in an inspired performance, but ultimately juicing hard was his downfall when he couldn't carry the extra muscle mass into the late rounds and became a sitting duck for Oscar's lethal left hook.

Used to be a big Hoya fan. Watched him win gold in Barcelona. My tune started changing after the Tito fight. Dude was blaming everyone but himself on why he lost.

Bit ironic you should say that when you have an avatar of guy who said he was suffering from a case of itchy socks as an excuse :nut:patsch

De La Hoya Vargas is one of my favorite fights. Vargas bullying De La Hoya
against the ropes and De La Hoya giving a boxing lesson in the middle of the
ring. Back and forth fight and Jesus what a left hook. Oscar set it up perfectly
With the feint and body shots. I believe it is one of the best fights of the decade.
based on thr buildup the excitement of the fight and the finish. Nobody thought
Oscar could stop Vargas. Anyway Pac dominating a shot Delahoya I don't think so.
I believe Mayweather De La Hoya was a better fight

Hopkins over Tarver could be the most impressive/ surprising... molsey over DLH is the best maybe.... Mayweather over Hatton deserves an honorable mention to me..... maybe also Tarver over RJJ 2....... and MAB over Hamed....

No Oscar getting robbed vs a roided Mosley in the rematch was a better win for Oscar. But as far as entertaining plus all the bad blood and drama that came along with it and the ending to that fight that it was a pretty dramatic fight. Vargas was damaged, but he still fought like a wounded lion. Had Oscar and Tito not been around we might of had great fights too drool for. Can anyone imagine Vargas vs Forrest, Vargas vs Wright II, Vargas vs Mayorga, but Vargas in his prime? I really do think it was quite pathetic display coming from Tito to low blow Vargas like that. Vargas was doing all this at what, 23-24? Definitely got thrown in with the lions abit too early.
