Was Oscar's win over Vargas one of the best in the last decade?

That version of Vargas was a cheating desperate disgrace that ended up kissing the canvas.

I loved Oscar's 'shoulder roll' in the first round :D

It was a stellar win through and through in a fight where Vargas came in ready, recovered (from the Trinidad loss) and riled up.

I picked De la Hoya by decision back then but I think it had more to do with me playing favorites than it did with an in depth analysis.

I don't think it was the best win of the decade but it should make a top 10-15 list.

On a side note, I personally think that Felix Trinidad's 12th round KO over Vargas was a better win.

I loved watching this fight, and won a decent chunk of change on it. ODLH's second most dramatic performance behind the fight with Quartey.

I think it's an underappreciated win because Vargas is remembered as a roid cheat. People forget that Vargas was roided up that night.
