And by last chance, I mean the last chance to gain respect from his haters. Now, obviously there is a large portion of the boxing watching community who have a mountain of respect for Floyd and his abilities, but there is an equal, if not bigger section of the fanbase who call Mayweather a fluke, a fraud, and a cherrypicker.

My question is, can Floyd do anything at this point to save his legacies and get respect from his detractors, or was beating Pac in his prime his last chance. If you look at his potential list of opponents, I can see the excuses alreaady,

Canelo - hypejob, was never that good, never faced any elite competition.

Martinez - Old, fading, on the decline, would be weight drained

Garcia - a jr welterweight, never faced elite competition

Kahn - don't even have to go into it

Pacquiao - damaged goods, past his prime

Is there ANYBODY out there Floyd can face that will gain him respect, or is it too late?

It would have been one of his last chances to fight someone that would have captured the worlds attention and actually thought would be a tough fight for him at his weight class.

Pac was his last shot at a legacy defining fight. For now, all of his fights as a star have come against guys too small or too old. Some of that's Floyd's fault, some of it not; just like the Pac fight falling through.

He has no chance with haters. That's why they're called haters.

If he would have fought and beat Pac do you think they would have still been haters?

If he had taken on Pac in 2009-10 right after the Cotto or even the Margarito fight, he would get full credit for taking out a guy who looked invincible. No one he fought had that aura of invincibility, ever, not even Corrales. Beating Pac at that time would have done it. Now even Sergio martinez looks damaged. Unfortunate, floyd could have won that fight with Pac in 2009 or 2010 and been remembered as someone who beat the standout fighters of his generation. I would have given either of them credit.

Hopkins would have fought Pac twice by now if he were in Floyd's shoes.

If he humiliated Pac who just cleaned house on Cotto, he would have gotten full credit. Does Ali get credit for beating Foreman? Hell yes he does.

That's not fair. Pac was looked at by boxing fans, the boxing media, and casual fans as an actual threat to Mayweather. There was a reason it was going to be the biggest fight in history. No matter what anyone says, it was going to be a 50/50 with the 2 best fighters of the past decade when they were both perceived to be at top form

mayweather waited all his threats out. He can redeem himself a little bit by fighting canelo.

The 4th Marquez fight was Pacquiao's last chance to finally beat down a 40 year old bloated Juan Manuel Marquez and instead he got his ass knocked out cold and woken up with smelling salt.
