Granted I didn't see the fight in HD but the uppercut did not look like it landed. Also Matthyse looked slow and purposely trying to miss. I love Pacquiao. He's one of the greats of this era and this win doesn't affect his career at all. That being said, I have to call **** how I see it being ESB's most unbiased and objective poster. It looked rigged to me.
No, it wasn't. Lucas and his team were not prepared for a Pacman that still had fast hands and feet...or at least faster hands and feet than Lucas has.
Do you mean the first uppercut knockdown? That was a three punch combination; the third punch didn't land but the right hook followed by the left uppercut were big punches. The second knockdown was more suspect. The final knockdown was LM quitting, pure and simple. I can't see why Lucas's team would agree to seeing their boy get humiliated before taking a dive. If it were really rigged, LM would have hit the canvas after the first knockdown and stayed there.
The last one. It looked like it hit his gloves. Maybe it wasn't rigged but Lucas didn't go in there to win. Weird fight.
You don't think that fight was suspect? Lucas didn't try to hurt Pac. He always swung for the fences when Pacquiao was moving out of range. Maybe his timing was just off or Pac was just that good. But it looked suspect as **** to me.
I thought something was strange during the fight live, but after rewatching it, not true at all. Just pay attention to everytime Lucas misses his right, he is greeted with 2-3 shots from Pac..... that went on during the entire fight. It was a No Mas moment!!!
Lucas is past his best and stepped in with an old but game/rejuvenated Pac who wanted to make a statement. No fix. Just a quit job on LM part.
Go figure, some stupid Mayweather fan started a thread like this. Shocking. No, Matthyse was too slow and took some bombs. The first KD was a flush shot to the jaw. The second KD was strange, but he ate a hard right then another, then dropped. The third KD looked the same as the first. Why in the world would Matthyse eat shots all night then get “stopped” in the 7th. He got picked apart with ease. He would have quit sooner.
I'm a Manny fan too. You can't deny everything looked suspect. Matthyse was probably just shot. It was just odd to me he would never wind up when Pac was in range. But right after Pac stepped out he'd wind up and just miss.
If you're gonna fix a fight on a stoppage, you'd make it conclusive, after all the boxer is picking the moment to hit the canvas, so he can be sure to make it look legit. You certainly don't take a knee from a clipping shot in a prior knock down because all that does is fuel dumb conspiracy theories. The truth is much more straight forward; Matthyse is a shot fighter who's lost his punch resistance and, during the bout, his desire too. The result was legit. The match-up wasn't...
