Does anyone else think that Pac's win has been a bit over-estimated? I mean, he destroyed Cotto and did very, very well. However, his defence was pretty poor, he let himself open a bit, and with Cotto being damaged goods, a better fighter would have opened him up. Maybe someone with loads of confidence and in terrific form like Mosley or even someone with the precision to open up the slightest gap like Floyd would have capitalised. Pac did enough to beat Cotto and make it look flashy but it certainly was not a flawless victory, and anyone who's saying that he'd walk all over Mayweather needs to look past the result. P.S Cotto/Hatton anyone?
I agree a little. This happens everytime someone wins a fight. After Mayweather beat Marquez people on here said he would beat Manny because Marquez did so good against him.
Pacquiao beat Miguel Cotto..Simple, Cotto 29 year old WW champ and #2 WW in the world, still in his prime looking damn good in the first few rounds. The lack of corner advice and the instinct of Cotto to brawl instead of box Pacquiao may have led to his downfall. All the credit goes to Pacman though and if you were a true boxing fan, this win should've opened your eyes and witnessed an ATG in action.
He is the best fighter of our generation, he makes some of the achievements of Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, Naseem Hamed and Oscar De La Hoya look average by comparison. For someone to win titles at featherweight and below to destroy the 140lbs champion and 147lbs champion is amazing. I'm really surprised at how easy it was for Pacquiao. The guy has charisma, speed, power and chin. His defence was excellent.
Manny performance was pretty brilliant. He didn't really leave himself open, he actually let cotto hit him at many points in the fight. Manny's a sadistic ****er.. I think he actually likes being hit. Cotto fought a pretty superb fight himself but he just got outboxed and outfought, plain and simple.
