Nuff respect to Pacman for bringing the ruckus to Hatton and getting the job done brutally and efficiently. Now for the reality check! Props to HBO for hyping a fight that on paper - to the learned boxing fan - was not as competitive as the hype machine would imply. Don't get me wrong - Hatton had a puncher's chance based on being the supposed bigger man, but that was it. A combination of Hatton's beer swilling lifestyle, considerable fluctuation of weight between fights, and style of fighting put him on a steady gradient of decline post Tsysu. Freddie Roach himself predicted and affirmed that Hatton was a strong but easy fighter to prepare for due to his reckless attacking style of boxing and head first approach to defence. Roll on Pac Vs Mayweather - this would definately be an interesting fight should Mayweather manage to overcome Marquez. Got to love Roach for trying to bait Mayweather to fight Pacman straight away (after an 18 month layoff). This will definately not be the walkover that Hatton V Pac was, but lets hope it's not a boring Chess Match due to Mayweather's tendency to adopt a safety first approach! :thumbsup
Of course not ? I think 95% of fans thought pac would win just not that easily. We all knew having seen his last few fights he was well past his best and still telegraphing his lunging punches.
very surprising...i came into this fight with zero respect for anyone thinking Hatton would even give Pac the least bit of trouble, in fact i even said that if Hatton got so much as 2 rounds in the bank that he'd basically of done a great job, and i'd have underestimated him vastly and even i was shocked out how he just walked right through Hatton, decided to skip the whole feeling out process, and the boxing, and just beat him the **** down, to me it was more shocking then the DLH win....nah, no it wasn't but it was on the same level it was defiantly one of the signature performances of the decade IMO
Short and sweet. That surprises me. Pac's got his power back in l40. Pac revealed his secret weapon --- right hook. All these are surprises that I did not expect.
I have to admit that I thought Hatton's size and strength would be too much for Pacquaio, although I still thought it'd be a very tough fight for him. The fact that Pacquaio won, and won so convincingly, completely surprised me.
This content is protected Look at the gaping mouths of Oscar, Schifer, Mark Wahlberg, etc. They're all surprised.
I was not surprised at all, and was always confident in a Manny victory, I just didn't expect the recklessness and the insistence on lunging and face-first attack of Hatton. I'm not taking anything away from Pacquiao (who is brilliant and quickly becoming an ATG) but let's call it like it is - Ricky Hatton was never an elite fighter and may never have belonged in the same ring as a Floyd Mayweather or a Manny Pacquiao. I judge Manny much more based on his wins against Barrera, Morales, Diaz and Marquez than I do against Hatton. A win against a prime Floyd Mayweather will cement his legacy as one of the top fighters of all time under 160 lbs.
im suprise either on how glassjaw hatton's chin is or how powerful pacquiao really is... up to now, i can not make up my mind, but i tend to believe the former

of course it was surprising to see HOW it ended. the ring mag lww champ, never defeated at lww, gets absolutely skull dragged by a guy who has never fought at that weight. i know a lot of folks had no doubt that pac would win...but even they can't say they saw something so lopsided and short ahead. pac made hatton look like a bad sparring partner
