Was Pavlik really 111 degrees four days before the Hopkins fight?

Pavlik did not put on 2 pounds. He weighed in 169 and fought at 174. Hopkins weighed in at 170 and fought at 181. Anything else is false.

I didn't say that he lied. But perhaps he took information on good faith too easily, I don't know.

Pavlik would have shown physical signs of bronchitis and he wouldn't have stayed upright unless it had passed. Maybe it disrupted his build-up prior to the fight.

Hausser is the one who originally broke the news. He was in the locker room before the fight, at ringside during the fight, and back in the locker room after the fight. Pavlik was blowing green snot between rounds if you want the signs of illness. He stayed on his feet for 12 rounds while Bernard used his head for a ****ing speed bag because, in spite of obvious flaws in his game, he is one of the very toughest fighters in the world.

Well, if Pavlik had a 101 temperature just prior to the fight and was AT LEAST 7lbs. lighter than Hopkins on fight night then Hopkins victory means nothing. Pavlik coming off a sickness that obviously messed up his training camp and coming in AT LEAST a full division lower in weight on fight night means Hopkins should have K.O'ed Pavlik early. Actually the fact that a sick, much lighter guy didn't get K.O'ed by Hopkins shows why Joe Calzaghe made Popkins his ***** so easily in their fight. Hopkins cried, faked lowblows and ran like a *****. A sick, weakended Kelly took his beating like a man. Kelly is a true warrior.

First the 111 is a typo. The temp was 101 the day before the fight. The bronchitis and elbow injury were both thoroughly documented by Thomas Hausser. However, the fight itself was a one sided ass whoopin'. The irony for me was that Hopkins did everything I said nearly 2 years earlier you would have to do to beat KP, and I was talking about a healthy KP. BHop performed like he was 30 years old again. There is no down grading that.

You'd think the broken back comment would have made it more than obvious.

I haven't ever boxed.... but have had bronchitis before during my rugby playing days.... and most certainly wouldn't have played, and that was only at under-18 level, never mind World Cup level - which this fight would have been the equivalent of.

If you aren't right, pull out. Simple as that.

I don't really care if he's being called a liar or not and don't know what is trying to be proven with this thread. Pavlik was beaten by someone that proved he's FAR better than him and his decision to stay down in weight is enough proof to that or AT LEAST he would have mentioned plans in moving back up. What happened with Hopkins was because of Hopkins ability and because of what many people mentioned/predicted could happen based on Pavlik's limited ability.

If it's true he was sick and was able to take the damage Hopkins delivered then I don't know what the hell anyone is hinting here. Pavlik is a semi God?, made of steel?, I mean he can't be human standing there like a punching bag taking punches over and over while being sick. As we said, Pavlik needs to set his self up to throw punches and Hopkins' constant movement didn't allow him to, not to forget Pavlik's **** poor defense and predictable one-dimensional style.

I don't see any double standards.

It's just a few(of what's left) Pavlik fans seem to be BEYOND delusional about what happened to him against Hopkins. We heard enough of the weight and let that one go, now it's "sick" claims and I have no idea what they're hiding next.

Fact is and I repeat he got outclassed and many people mentioned the reasons WHY he will get outclassed based on his style BEFORE the fight and that's EXACTLY what happened. END OF STORY.

Either believe that or believe endless lists of excuses, Jack "Double the jab" Leow seems to be free enough to invent more and more excuses to secure his job in the corner as every hour passes by these days.

I think the last actual war between America and Britain (The war of 1812 I think) had Britain winning.

    Body temperature is naturally 36.9 deg C..... the conversion factor is x1.8 + 32..... which makes it (36.9 x 2) = 73.8 - 7.38 = 66.42 + 32 = 98.42 deg F.

At 111 he would be toast... laid up on bed, or in hospital on a drip in a bad way..... not preparing for a major fight.

He got his ass well and truly whipped, simple as that.

Don't start with weight either. His trainer ought to have known that he was better at 160 and hydrating up rather than simply weighing at 170.... so why not do that?

PPPPPP = Proper Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance.

    Please take note!
