Nah he wasn't unbeatable, nobody is, but it was a fun ride while it lasted.

Certainly not the odds makers who established him as a 42-1 favorite if you could find a house to take the odds.

It's irrelevant what they were saying. Tyson was not prepared for that fight.

    Nobody claimed it's Buster's fault.

Agreed, but Douglas promised his mother on her deathbed that he'd win the title for her, he was more motivated than ever.
On the other hand, Tyson no longer had the motivation. He had already achieved all that he set out to achieve, he wasn't hungry anymore. And he had all sorts of trouble in his personal life that affected him.

Cause he was a young kid who got it all too soon: the fame, the vultures who were only there for his money. He had alcohol and drug addiction.
He didn't know how to handle all of that.

Not exactly true. His skillset degraded after he fired Rooney. And even in his last few fights with Kevin, he wasn't that focused anymore.

He had to eat salad in soup in order to drop weight for the Douglas fight.
He was dropped in sparring and he didn't train properly.
So sure, he was not old, but he was not at his best either.

He trained for them, but still looked bad compared to his best.

My attempts are not weak one bit. Foreman trained properly for Lyle, Tyson didn't for Douglas. Nothing you say will alter this absolute FACT.

Tyson's team (corner) didn't even bring cooled metal for the swelling, instead they "treated" it with a balloon full of water.

Don't interpret Tyson's defeat as hurting me personally.
These are the facts, and I don't care if the champion is: Tyson, Douglas, Holyfield or anyone else.

Your not a Tyson hater for saying no
    Your a Boxing hater
    Here’s why
When he came along he was a breath of fresh air
He was ‘Dynamic’ in the way we saw Roy Jones jr for a decade
    Just a faster human being
If your laughing now then your a Boxing hater he was a come forward predator that you couldn’t or struggled to hit
Someone else on here posted he’d be the worst opponent to fight which is true
This posts title asks was “Prime” Tyson unbeatable
There is a clue in that that gives you the answer
    So Cus D’Amato moulded him
But Kevin Rooney was always the man on the pads etc
D’Amato died as we know and Tyson continued with Rooney
Without Rooney he wasn’t practicing the things D’Amato installed
Rooney was ousted by Don King in 1989
Tyson loses, depressed, suicidal, out of the ring altercations and brawls, married a gold digger who publicly humiliated him
And Rooney was replaced with Jay Bright by King
    The unheralded Jay Bright
Tyson was no longer following the disciplined path and partying, the celebrity lifestyle engulfed him
These aren’t “excuses” when there’s evidence these things happened
They are the truth behind Tyson’s abrupt demise at the hands of, and wait for this, a 43/1 underdog
I’m not only Boxings biggest upset but sports biggest upset
Yes Tyson got beat while he was 23 but he wasn’t at his Prime because Rooney wasn’t with him and his replacement trainer didn’t know what to do with him
People say he was beat by a taller Boxer with a good jab
Just like Thomas, Holmes, Spinks, Carl Williams, Tucker, Biggs…
Now if you have a comeback from that your a Boxing hater and go along with an opinion built by those who weren’t even fans when Tyson ruled.
It was the way Tyson did it that made him so special and this is the reason people harp on about intimidation
Who wouldn’t be intimidated knowing they were facing a all round faster KO king

Being poorly prepared and being past prime are two different things though. At 24 years of age and being the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world he had to be considered prime. But yes I agree there were a lot of details and circumstances which led to him losing that fight other than just simply being outclassed by another fighter.

Mike Tyson in his prime bordered on being great. Certainly not unbeatable. If he had keep himself together, he might have become the greatest heavy ever. But as it turns out, he crumbled in the ring when pushed to the limit.

I come from a family full of boxing fans, so, naturally, I started following boxing at an early age. I was born in 1974 so, from the early 80's onward, I was watching a lot of televised boxing. In addition I was exposed to the boxing of boxers long gone, since my Dad and Grandfather collected boxing films, and loved showing them. Then came MIKE TYSON! He was the first boxer, who got me EXCITED about boxing! I loved watching him fight! Unbeatable? No. I do not think I ever thought that. But he sure was the most exciting, in my life, to date.
