Willard for sure probably ranks worse than Carnera in spite of having the better single win.

Well we can't exactly hand Briggs a win over him without even stepping into the ring!

The bottom line is that Briggs won the lineal title in a fight that he arguably lost, and his other big win was a last second hail Mary win over Lyakovich.

I would be very comfortable saying that Carnera has a better resume!

    This is speculation.

    Their resumes are fact!

You have to give Carnera something for having a better record!

    Maskaev
    Michael Bent

    To name a few.

Well I could speculate how many of Carnera's wins were kosher ,but that's been done to death.
All we can do is offer our opinions ,and mine is Briggs beats the living **** out of Carnera.

You can name a few if you don't confine yourself to undisputed champs. The Leon Spinks that beat Ali beats Primo, imo.
****! I'd pick Carlos Takam to stop Primo!

I agree that Spinks had reservoirs of talent, but character matters as well and he has always been an emotional train-wreck.

Maybe the Spinks that beat Ali, but the guy who showed up in 95% of his other fights lays down.

Do you accept that Carnera has a much better resume than Briggs?

In my opinion there is a standout candidate for the title of "worst lineal heavyweight champion of all time."

For every other candidate who has been named over the years, you can identify some sort of signature win, outside of the unavoidable lineal title winning fight.

Leon Spinks really doesn't have one, and he is the only lineal champion that you can say that about!

Not really Briggs has by far the best single win, albeit he managed it going backwards.
I don't accept the 2nd Sharkey fight was on the level.Loughran was a midget against him, Uzcudun hadn't been ranked for over 3 years .The Stribling fights were fixed, etc.
