Corbett didn't quit. You can see him struggling to get up, and collapsing down, before struggling again.

A single solid body shot can stop you, and FItz was a good body puncher with freakish power.

Otherwise I do agree it's hard to call getting up that much quitting.

If you go to 12:37, it's clear Corbett wanted to continue, but couldn't

Better quality, it shows it around 1:44

99% of people on here think Carnera was a hyped, mob controlled fighter who had many of his wins arranged for him, a musclebound agromeliac case who couldn't punch his weight and couldn't take a good shot.
You disagree but you cant have it both ways! A hell of a lot of people thought Johnson beat Hart, but the result stands.
You can't arbitrarily move the goal posts when things don't suit your narrative.

Carnera isn't in the HOF for the same reason he was never named Fighter Of The Year, and never listed in the 100 greatest punchers though his ko stats certainly qualify him!

Quitting is when you turn to the referee and ask him to stop the fight which was the case in both these fights. How much punishment you endure before doing so,[I said he was justified]does not alter the fact that you quit.
Sam Langford fighting Gred Fulton took a blow to the temple that damaged the optic nerve and left him blind in one eye and temporarily blind in the other ,he went back to his corner and quit and was castigated for it.

ps Anyone disagreeing with your opinion does not have to be under the influence of stimulants or alcohol.I don't take drugs and only drink week ends and occasionally take a glass of wine on a Friday night.
Its rather insulting for you to suggest otherwise, and also rather conceited.

Can you explain to me what these two drunks are doing that's remotely good?

This might be as good as the time Reznick was trying to explain how brilliant Carnera was despite his short clip showing Carnera barely landing a jab, and then the following jab gets parried. So I understand the standard of excellence isn't every high around here.

Ask your mother. There must be a reason she slept with them.

So you can't give any analytical breakdown?

Thought so. Stop romanticising these turds because you like the thought of being one of those cigar smoking, shirt and tie wearing, card playing, 1920s newspaper reading, sat in the corner of a smokey tavern buffoons.

P4P likely but Primo became a decent fighter and could win against legit opposition based on matchup and style. To say he never developed as a fighter past journeyman is absurd. He was huge, he had a good jab, he knew how to clinch and was very strong, he had a shaky chin but very good recuperative powers, he was very well conditioned and had an exceptional heart.

I could see Primo beating or being very competitive with a myriad of guys :

    Corbett
    Hart
    Burns
    Braddock
    Johannsson
    L. Spinks
    Trevor Berbick
    Bonecrusher Smith
    Shannon Briggs
