I think Graciano was the better fighter. Both had issues with discipline. Graciano did beat Nunn in a close encounter, but rightfully so I though. He got robbed against Maske I and Michalchewski I.

They were similar fighters, but Ralf was at least a level below his brother. Graciano was world class, while Ralf was really Euro title level despite getting hold of a WBO belt. Ralf would be undersized in today's cruiser division, and probably could have fought at 175 based on his frame.

Like Graziano, Ralf had an exceptional chin, solid fundamentals, and was heavier handed than his record suggested. He was also too passive at times and reluctant to let his hands go, and as a result lost fights he had the tools to win.

He was a heavy underdog in the first fight against Thompson, but dropped him and hurt him several times. The shoulder injury obviously was decisive, as if it had gone to the cards he would have lost.

Ralf made a few defences of the title, and lost clearly to Thompson in the return. Credit to Ralf, he admitted himself he had lost it even though the decision was split.
