    So?
And he avenged those losses, the one with LaMotta x4 ending 5-1 with him, the one with Fullmer by ko ending 1-2-1 with him with the draw and the second loss at the end of his career, the one with Turpin by ko,etc...

Please, stop repeating that Robinson had an undefeated record as an amateur. He did not.

I consider him the best WW ever but not the best MW. I also believe that he would give the top MW champions of all time a run for their money and have a good chance of winning but not be the favorite.

Robinson was the only one in the ring fighting that night. The referee expended more energy than Maxim.

Maxim defeated Robinson without expending much energy.

Agreed. Maxim was singularly awful in that fight. He has no reason to claim victory in this one. He got showed up badly.

Apart from the fact that he won the fight.

He did win the fight. He was in the right place at the right time. It`s called being lucky. Some on here feel the need to build him up into this master strategist that had it all figured out. He was getting his ears boxed off on an uncommonly hot and humid night.

Would you call him a winner if Robinson had succumbed to a heart attack or was struck by lightning? How much credit is really due Maxim here? All he did was stand there and get hit for 13 rounds. He did nothing to exert himself or impose his size on the smaller man. He just stood there. Pathetic effort.

The referee had a better connect % than Maxim that night.
