Jesus if Tyson had no answer for Ruddock in the second fight Id hate to see what he would have done to him had he been able to figure him out LOL. Your as bad with Tyson as Mendoza is with Jack Johnson.

Growing up as a HUGE Ruddock fan I watched his entire career first hand. I do not believe he was a shot fighter vs Lewis but he wasn't the same guy who fought Tyson either. I'm not sure it would've mattered much anyway, I think the Lewis right cross would've done that to any version of Ruddock honestly. I always thought Ruddock seemed intimidated by Lewis on that particular evening, after seeing the outcome I can see maybe why he was. Ruddock entered the Lewis fight a confused mess, the addition of Patterson in my opinion only hurt Ruddock, Patterson wanted him to box but Ruddock either wouldn't or couldn't quite do that. To be honest he may have fared better if he had came out guns blazing against Lewis, either that or he'd of been down even quicker. Back to the original point though the two fights with Tyson did change Ruddock, the took something not only physically but mentally from him. Ruddock had been on quite a ferocious knockout streak, knocking Dokes and Smith unconscious he seemed a legit fearsome puncher. I think the fact that Mike took his best and kept coming mentally damaged Razor. That and the beatings he took were career debihilatating. I am 100% certain he was damn near shot vs Morrison. He was fat, hadn't fought in sometime and only when during the fight it started to seem winnable did Ruddock seem to actually care.

Go watch the fight, Tyson struggled like mad against him and Ruddock was the stronger fighter in the latter rounds. Not so impressive because Ruddock wasn't that great at all as Lewis would later show, it's hard to handle but I'm sure you'll get over it.....:good

Nice write up but i don't think you've even seen the Lewis fight, Ruddock tried his smash plenty of times against Lewis but it didn't work, Lewis just simply destroyed him. He was the better fighter and the result was a devastating knockout.

Don't forget this was a Lewis that was far from complete as a fighter yet he destroyed Ruddock with ease.

Trust me man I've seen the fight many times, I sat in front of my tv that Halloween night rooting like mad for Razor. Maybe you should go back and take another look. Ruddock only fired the smash a couple times early and never landed a good one. Once he was completely destroyed by that right cross at the end of round one he tried winging bombs at Lewis in round 2 but his legs were already gone.

Jesus the fight only lasted a couple of rounds, he never threw it that many times in a round anyway to say it was the only punch he had.

Lol I can't argue that. But if you go back and watch the first Tyson fight he really came out swinging. Like I said in an earlier post I'm pretty sure Ruddock was intimidated by Lewis on that evening. You can tell a lot about a fighter based on body language and from the time he got in the ring that night it seemed clear to me either the event (magnitude) of the fight or Lewis had him a bit uncertain. From the time he climbed through the ropes, he threw his hands up and pointed at Lewis it seemed very out of character. I think the point you are trying to make is that let's not diminish this Lewis win and claim he only won because Razor was shot and I'm not at all.

Lewis won because he was the better fighter and Ruddock didn't have the chin to take his power.

O... K... and Im sure Ruddock didnt suffer all of those injuries and didnt stay in the hospital for two weeks afterwards. I think I just saw a pig fly and rainbows shot out of Lennox Lewis' ass a few minutes ago...

So a broken jaw automatically makes you shot?? Are you a doctor or something?? Lewis did what Tyson couldn't, accept it.
